  1. It's a bridge so when I'm finished I will either apply to that program or TCC.
  2. It really is a great program & they have a online RN program also.
  3. Yeah I love math & it doesn't get pass basic algebra. We formed a chat group w/the teacher but that's about it. The majority of us work all kinds of hours.
  4. Critical thinking is a must. The math is not difficult you just have to pay attention. Practice your skills check off sheet until you know it verbatim. Once your accepted into the program purchase all of your supplies early. I had to pay out of pocket for my books so I saved $700 compared to some of my classmates that purchased the book package from the bookstore. We only used about 40% of the books in that package.
  5. The questions are fine, I had a lot too but noone to answer them. The program begins in January and ends in December. You study and take exams & quizzes online during the week. You practice skills and math on the weekend at the beginning of the program. You then have clinicals at a nursing home on the weekend until finals. In the summer your clinicals are at the hospital. You have two teachers that help you though everything. It is hard especially if you have a family & full time employment which majority of us in the class do. Time management!! It can be accomplished but it will take some discipline.
  6. Ask away, we are on break at school rt now
  7. You can email me at [email protected] for more information. I am currently in the online program. There is a lot of information, it's a good program though.
  8. Congrats, see you in the morning.
  9. Lol, you are welcome, I know how hard it is to find a program & then actually get accepted in to one. Thank you, I know I will need lots of prayer come January.
  10. Ok, so you are applying for the traditional LVN program, disregard the class size comment. Traditional accepts way more students. The A&P class is good to take & if your planning on pursuing your R.N. afterwards I would go ahead & start on some of those prerequisites. Your a CNA so I know you have your CPR & First aid. I didn't have to take a drug test but I thought that was a requirement. Make sure all of your vaccinations are up to date (you will need a copy) especially the new meningitis requirement. Make sure you have all of your transcripts for high school & any colleges that you have attended. Apply to NCTC as early as possible next year so you'll have that out of the way & will only have to worry about getting accepted into the nursing program. Get at least 3 professional references that you will use. I believe that is it until you get accepted. Once accepted you do your physical, TB test, background check & have your references completed.
  11. You are correct, all you need is a high score. At one time the class size was 12-15 but now they have increased it from 20-25. The study book really helps. You want to score at least a 95 overall, I know people have gotten in with a lower score though.
  12. From my understanding there are no prereqs for the program. You can take A&P before or during the program. Every one says taking it before hand makes the program easier plus you will have Fridays off.
  13. I know, I'm looking forward to orientation next week too. You have a nice drive like me. It took me an hour and 10 minutes to drive out there last Friday. It wasn't bad at all. I'm excited & nervous. I know this is going to take a lot of dedication & hard work.
  14. Congratulations!! I will be commuting from Fort Worth. Will you have a commute or are you in the Gainesville area?
