  1. I carry it through NSO also. Wouldn't think being without it! Now a days you never know what's going to happen!
  2. I work in a doctor's office M-Th, and assisted living every other weekend!
  3. Mine I think was 75.00 in Ohio!
  4. I love Crocs! I have worn New Balance, SAS (which are the ugliest to me), Dansko - which I did not like at all...... I do 12 hour days and Crocs work for me!
  5. I work with a physician that says that tattoos are a sign of insecurity........ Don't know if that is what the D.O.N. is thinking????? Just a guess..............
  6. I wear Crocs and love them, they are better than my New Balance shoes......
  7. Way to go! CONGRATULATIONS!
  8. Hi NurseLori, I work in a assisted living home. We also have a floor for "mild dementia and mild alzheimer's."
  9. I enjoyed my acrylic nails when I had them! Had them for probably 3-4 years. I have the wimpest nails of all time. Which is one reason I enjoyed the acrylics. I don't miss having to get them done so often either. I did work in a physician's office then too. He didn't mind them at all. I am also a nail biter at times, esp. when I'm nervous! Pros and cons for them both ways. I myself would rather see nice, clean looking nails compared to seeing nails chewed down past the quick and painful.
  10. Merrell has a very comfortable shoe! No breaking in at all. http://www.pegasusshoes.com/detail.cfm/pid/636/g/Women
  11. I'm a LPN (for 30 years!) Now working in Assisted Living for 2 1/2 years. Really enjoy it! Before that did office nursing for 11 years, and nursery for 9 years, and pediatrics for 7 years.
  12. I was going to work for them in the Alzheimer's unit on Friday nights only. Well they expected me to sweep and mop the dining room and kitchen, plus clean units that were empty besides doing usual duties. That lasted 2 weeks, maybe!
  13. I think the pro-soft and riverwashed uniforms are hot! Does anyone agree? 'Yes, I have hot flashes but wow, they make me hotter.... I just ordered uniforms from http://www.a1cherokeescrubs.com
  14. My all time favorite crush - was Ben Casey! He's the reason I wanted to be a nurse!
  15. I use to work for a pediatrician. She also said that mayonnaise would kill lice too. Needs left on overnight with a cap, but it also good for your hair too.
  16. http://www.uniformcorner.com/~uniformc/acatalog/vnecksolidtops.html I found this site. Very reasonable prices for landau uniforms!
  17. I had trouble with TMJ with Wellbutrin! I went to the Dr. in January for ringing in my left ear, he told me it was probably a plugged Eustachian tube. After 2 weeks of continous ringing in my ear (from the TMJ), because no medicine made it better. Also had trouble sleeping, even after I had been on it for a while. It did help me stay awake easier at night (especially since I work at night.)
  18. I work nights too. I think you gain from eating at such crazy times. I'm up and down when I'm suppose to be sleeping. Thinking about joining Curves for Women tomorrow. At least I'm going to check it out.
  19. Where I work we have monthly staff meetings too, that we are expected to attend. With us working 10:45 p.m. to 7:15 a.m., I am in no mood to show up at 2:00 p.m. for a meeting. Why can't they understand that is like the middle of the night to us. We do the e-mails too but still have the meetings. That is my biggest gripe about working nights!
  20. I've cried at work! I use to work for a wonderful doctor. I had a patient call and bless me out because the dr. that he was referred to didn't have a copy of his labs and x-ray results. The hospital was suppose to send them to him too. Then this patient hung up on me! Told me he went to see this dr. for nothing and that it cost him $125.00. Talk about being pissed! I went to the doctor and told her I had never worked at a place where I got blessed out so much, that I was going to quit and find another job. Needless to say, all the other dr. had to do was call the hospital and get them to fax him the results. (think that was asking for too much?) My doctor ended up talking to him about how he treated me. It's just not worth getting yelled at by so many patients for various things that they're not happy about. I did finally quit because of getting yelled at by so many patients. I was the triage nurse, plus setting up appointments, giving injections, helping put patient's in rooms. So much to do, but not enough hours in the day to do it. Now I work in a LTC facility, where the resident's are independent, but 11pm to 7am. So much less stress! The girls that I work with are wonderful!
  21. I order some of my uniforms from http://www.Jasco.com and http://www.Tafford.com and http://www.a1scrubs.com
  22. I work 10:45 p.m. to 7:15 a.m. I like it! I like being able to do something in the daytime if I need too. Also, it worked out wonderful when my boys were little, either my hubby or I was always home with them.:)
  23. I use to work in a physician's office. Out of all the numerous people that I have taken care of, only 1 had infection from the belly piercing. The doc had to remove the ring, and she had a lot of pain. It was so tender and hurt so bad, she squeezed my hands while he was removing it, didn't think I was going to have any feeling left in them. We saw anywhere from 40-50 people a day at the office. I worked for him for 8 1/2 years. This should be something that you are comfortable with your decision.
  24. There is a book that I read that is called, "Embraced by the Light." The author is Betty J. Eadie. It is about near death experience. It is a really good book to read, it made me stop and think about my life!
