  1. I know it's crazy and totally different, so I'll try to explain. The Military started a pilot program this year called MAVNI (MILITARY ACCESSIONS VITAL TO NATIONAL INTEREST ). This allows for recruitment certain legal aliens whose skills are considered to be vital to the national interest. Those holding critical skills - physicians, nurses, and certain experts in language with associated cultural backgrounds - would be eligible. For HCPs, they decided that the applicant must serve two monthly drills as an E4 before he/she can be commissioned as an officer. so... that's why I can't be commissioned until Oct 1 :). hope it makes a little more sense now.
  2. I recently joined the US Army Reserves. I will be commissioned Oct 1 as 2LT. My first drill weekend is coming up Aug 15/16. I'm very excited, but also a little unsure what to expect. Any tips? Tricks? Hints? Do's? Dont's? What to expect? I know each unit does their drills differently, but I'd really appreciate any insight views. Thanks!
