I graduated this past May from a BSN program and I just passed NCLEX last week and I am now looking for a job in the Dallas area. From what I understand, regular RN positions require a certain amount of experience to qualify so that leaves me with having to wait for GN positions to open up. First, does anyone know which hospitals will have GN internships that start in Aug/Sept in the Dallas area and when I can apply for them? or does anyone know of any hospitals that will hire a new RN without an internship or experience? I'm also curious to know if applying as an RN vs. a GN would give me a leg up in getting a job or if I would even get more negotiating power for a higher hourly wage? If anyone has any advice, that would be great. Thanks!!!
  2. Hi, I just graduated in May 09 with my BSN and just recently passed NCLEX and am now officially an RN. I missed the June GN internships. I'm looking for full time work preferably at a hospital in the Dallas area. Does anyone know of any places that would hire me? I don't really know how it works now considering I'm an RN instead of a GN. I almost feel like there's not much of a difference considering a lot of places won't hire RNs without previous experience. Can anyone explain how that would work? Should I still wait around for internships? I heard from Baylor and THR that they'll post some up in the coming weeks that will start for Aug/Sept. but when I asked that was for GNs. If anyone has any suggestions I would greatly appreciate it. I'm highly interested in either ER or ICU but any hospital area would be fine as well. Thanks in advance!!!
