Hi my fellow students. Are there any out there that received their acceptance letter for SWC Fall 2010?? Let me know :) I'm excited!

Mental health is a good choice. I'm sure you'll get in soon. What other schools are you applying for? If I didn't have a family, I would go out of state to go to school. From what I hear.... there are no waiting lists in many places.

Thanks! I was on the regular waitlist and I'm #69. They allow 60 people in the program each Fall. I talked with the office yesterday and they said they call up to 100 slots. Many of those will have gone to other programs. So that gives many of us a chance to get in. I heard that the LVN to RN program was different. I can't imagine waiting another 2-3 years to get in. Good Luck to you and I hope that you won't have to wait that long... at least you have your LVN license to work. Do you work now?

I'm excited to start the ADN program at Southwestern College this FALL!! I feel like I've been waiting forever. (2 years) I wanted to see if there were anyone else on this website that is starting this Fall as well :) While I was on the waiting list at almost all the community colleges (City, Grossmont and Southwestern) I attempted nursing school at San Diego State. Needless to say that I wasn't close to getting in.. BOO! Due to the budget cuts, it made my chances getting in little to none. The SON told me that I would've gotten in if I applied a couple of years ago.. I was like "Thanks for telling me this, but that doesn't help me now". I was pretty disappointed. I'm so glad I didn't bank all my luck at SDSU and I will start program this year!! YAY! Are there any others that feel my joy and are attending Southwestern College this FALL 2010?

coriander... i know you'll get in the program this spring :) as for me... i didn't retake any classes to increase my points. i couldn't handle another semester in o-chem and anatomy.. besides, the classes were all full at the time they said i could re-do them. however, i did get a letter from the swc-adn program stating that i may be starting this fall. so... if it doesn't work out for state, i'll start a program this year.. wahoo! .. did you take any classes at sdsu this semester? i took the personality psych class and a couple others to fulfill my grad requirements.

hi guys.. 60 is better than 50.. lol. i'll take it! i spoke to dr. n on thursday 9/10 and i had asked her what my chances are for the spring.. she said that it will be close because they are only taking 50 students. they do tend to flip flop with their numbers, but hopefully it will be a better number come spring.

it's been a while folks... but i'm back to let everyone know that they are only taking 50 people this spring for the son. boo! did any of you guys who didn't get in fall 09, roll-over their application? i did and i am not excited this time around. i'm tired of the rejection. any thoughts from you guys?

i have a question for those who didn't get in this fall??? how many of you guys are going still going to take classes at state this fall? you know... the upper division grad requirements? i just want to know :)

fall 08.. the cutoff was 66... stupid budget cuts.

i used the fall 08 criteria and i had 66 points. i'm embarrassed to even admit that, but it's what i have. i knew i wasn't going to compete with the others.

i'm sorry... i'm just as upset as you are. when i called ******, her machine picked up and said she was gone at 3pm... she will continue her calls tomorrow. i remembered this message from yesterday *confused* is this the same or a new recording? if it's the same message then we can give up... but if it's new, then you might have a chance.

for those who are waiting for "the call", i have bad news. i talked to ******* and she said that she is done with her list and she doesn't know about ******'s list. i think she called everyone as well. as you may have guessed... i was not called and i'm sad. however, there is still spring. congratulations to those who made it into the fall and the rest of us will see you in the spring. ...swtsangria... did you get your call?

well... if their doing it that way (alphabetically) then i'm out... my last name starts with an a. well that sucks .. oh well.. i'll just roll over my application to spring. if i don't get into spring, then i will do my adn at southwestern.. no problemo.. still sucks though. are you sure-sure that they do it alphabetically? *frowns*

so i just talked to my friend and she said that they haven't called her yet. she will keep me posted. last year my classmate didn't get a phone call ... she had announced that she recieved a letter. her and her friend both found out by the mail. no phone call... so i'm just saying that maybe some get calls and some get letters. don't be discouraged if you don't recieve a call right away.. *keeping positive*

oh wow! ams422 just made my stomach sink into the pits of muck... when i read your post, i immediately got a reality check.. it's that time ladies and good luck to you all! i feel like i am ready for anything (denial or acceptance) and that there is always plan b. i know i'll be a nurse whether or not i get into the fall at state. but gosh.... i worked sooooo freakin hard. *calming down* my friend who applied with me used the old criteria and she has a 4.0 gpa and 74 out of 77 points. she should get in, but she hasn't recieved a call yet. i wish my points were that high. and let me tell you.. (it's not even close). i'm babbling.. sorry. it's just my nerves.

darn... i need pepto for my churning tummy.. i can't handle this stress..

WTH!! 80 students... What is this world coming to? This lowers our chances even more... ARGG! I wouldn't be surprised if they cut the Spring SON. That's what it's leading to? Keep up your hopes and pray that we make it to point of getting in. Please post if you recieve your letter. So we can expect our letter in the mail. GOOD LUCK!!
