What are the smallest brand scrubs?
I am a little shorter than you and I say no way to the Cherokee's. I bought a set and promptly returned them. They were huge! Dickie's pants in XXS petite would probably fit you. I can wear them with Dansko shoes and they don't drag the ground. Grey's Anatomy XS pants also fit me, but only the flare leg style. The cargo style runs much bigger for some reason. Also, White Swan runs smaller but there is very little variety. Hope that helps!

Thank you to all you nurses, lpns & aides
There are some nurses on the floor in my clinical experiences that truly make me want to be exactly like them! I hope that I can exemplify their caring attitude and willingness to take on a student when I graduate. I think there are a lot of us in school that are so appreciative of the extra time that our preceptors take out of the day to help us out!

true XXS scrub pants??
I am also about 4'11", 95 lbs. The shortest/smallest pants I have found are White Swan Fundamentals. They don't come in a big variety of colors but they do fit well. Also, the Grey's Anatomy flare leg pants are somewhat short. Probably would be ok if you wore Dansko's or a similar shoe. They are considered a "junior fit". Usually I just am stuck doing alterations...

Pregnancy Denial-- a real psychological disorder?
I wouldn't usually put much stock into some of these claims but my mother didn't know she was pregnant with me until she was 5-6 months along. She was told she couldn't get pregnant and because of other health issues, she had irregular periods. She continued to go to the Dr. because of weight gain and suspecting pregnancy but she was assured she was not pregnant and in fact, had a tumor. Well....5 months later...the Dr. said they were mistaken...and 9 months later...me! This was over 20 years ago so I'm sure changes have been made since then.

Is this true? Stopping to help at accident scene.
Ayvah- the nurse at my husband's scene made sure that bystanders didn't take his helmet off (which they were attempting to do). This would have made his head/neck/back injuries much more severe, especially the way most helmets pull off. She also kept him still and reassured him. By the time the paramedics arrived, she was able to tell them that she couldn't palpate a dp pulse, so they were able to let the hospital know that immediately. Basically, she was able to do a preliminary assessment that saved the paramedics a lot of time and also to keep my husband calm.

Theatrical makeup ala tammy faye baker
I totally understand not showing boobs, butts, bellybuttons, etc. but I'm not sure how someone's choice of makeup changes their nursing abilities. Personally, I think it looks unprofessional when ladies show up with no makeup on at all and look half dead!

Is this true? Stopping to help at accident scene.
My husband was recently involved in a severe motorcycle accident- a truck turned in front of him and hit him broadside. I received a phone call as the ambulance arrived from a trauma nurse who had stopped at the accident. She had him stabilized by the time that an ambulance arrived and if she had not stopped, I have a feeling that the situation would have been so much worse. As a student nurse, I had always said I would never, ever stop at an accident scene due to fears of liability. I feel totally different now. Not only did she provide reassurance by phone for me and consistent updates but she also helped my husband. Being on the other side of the situation has changed my perspective. I called her throughout his hospital stay with updates and she came to visit him. I will ALWAYS be grateful to her and I just hope that I can be "that nurse" for someone.
