Hey thanks for the link. Yes, Im sure I can figure it out. As for the school, the problem is that as a CNA they very minimally try to teach, there is no teacher as I said. Even the clinicals reminds me more of volunteering at a home. I feed patients, and take some temperatures but I dont clean or change beds. And I dont see how I am expected to learn it from watching a VHS tape from 1990 once, and taking notes. Overall, save your money and look for the next one like I am. Im still 'enrolled' but on a hiatus pending better schooling. I just cant believe its this hard, and noone has posted anything save you.

This honestly sounds like a case of frustration building up to a case of nerves. I'm not a psychologist, just getting my Dr. Phil on, calm down, relax, take a deep breath, etc. All that negative energy serves you no good, it is in fact causing the opposite effect of what you are trying to acheive. Perhaps you are subconsciously telling yourself that you don't know it, that your not good enough, and the first failed test confirms it for you. Again, let those thoughts, if you have them, go. They are not true, and they do not serve you well. Take a breather if you need, not too long, just a couple of weeks, try not too think about it, remind yourself of all that makes your life good and worth living. Do all the things that you like to do, hang out with the people that fill you with a sense of light-heartedness and purpose. Pick the book up again, re-read. Figure out what enviroment you thrive in, Alone in the morning with tea or coffee on the veranda, in the afternoon at a library with other students discussing hematomas, etc. Then, when the test comes, remind yourself that the fear/anxiety is an illusion, a false belief. Also, caffiene can increase feelings of anxiety, so if you drink it, cut back a bit, if not, do something that relieves your stress. Also, you might see about beta blockers. This is really a last resort, but if you honestly have problems with anxiety talk to your doctor or therapist, and they may decide that a prescription might work for you.

I am currently enrolled in a very sub-standard CNA/LVN School called "Healthcare Education Advancement Center" in the La Crescenta Area. However, they have recently cut back on clinicals, and I have as of yet received any human instruction. Theory is: Show up, sign in, read the textbook by yourself, watch some videos from 1990, take a test. Clinical is: Instead of being close to you like we advertised, we're going to move it twenty miles away from your home, and let you know last minute. Oh, and we're cutting clinicals back from twice a week to once a week, so our "Ten Week" course is now Twenty. So, I desperately need to switch schools, and soon, transportation is a major issue for me, so I could only really attend schools in the Glendale/La Crescenta Area. Maybe Los Angeles. Time is also another issue for me, as I still have to think about the short term, and continue working to pay my rent. So, while I have let my fingers do the walking somewhat, I know that there are schools, and nursing homes out there that aren't necessarily advertised, so if anyone works for a nursing home, or something like that, I would appreciate a response, even rumors and hearsay are welcome.

Hey, sorry about the delay. I called up, yes, and the lady stated to call back in August, I have no idea how many spots there are, or if it is guaranteed. It works by them hiring you as a CNA that will work there, she did state that they would probably end up working Graveyard Shifts, and that the licensed position and training were both full-time however. Though, I may have shot myself in the foot telling everyone about it if there are limited positions.... EDIT: Okay, there are ten spots, There is an entrance exam on basic math and English, personal interviews, and then they decide based on how well you score and how much they like you, the process takes place between the first two weeks of August.

The number of the person to contact is 818-757-4418, the rate of pay is $8.55, the course is full time, likely lasting 5-6 weeks and the employment is also full time with an increased rate to 10...something an hour, the shift is likely to be graveyard upon licensure. However there is no contract requiring you to stay there upon licensure...... I also had a question surrounding the legality or requirements of my school. I checked out local schools, and the best I came up with was this small one that wasnt too far from me, and the Clinicals were supposedly going to be held in a nearby community as well, not too far. Understand, I take the bus, and do not have access to a car or a reliable ride. So when they told me the day before I was to report for clinicals, they told me it had been moved to Pasadena, over thirty miles from where I live almost, with no bus service close to it, and to top it off, they reduced the clinicals from twice a week from 4-8 to once a week at 4-7. For my required 100 hours of clinical this would take a little over five months. From a ten-week course, to a five month course. Obviously I am dropping the course, and demanding a refund, which is permitted in our 'Agreement' but their advertising is deceptive, and I want to know whether or not to report them to the Better Business Bureau or the State Board.
