Path to RN
wow, don't you people read? not a workaround to EARNING the degree, but a workaround to scheduling the curriculum in ways that aren't typical (ie, one of the options I presented).

Path to RN
which is why I was asking about workarounds :)

Path to RN
Hi... at some point I'm thinking of entering an accelerated BSN program. I'll need to work during the program, but unfortunately there doesn't appear to be a non-accelerated second degree BSN. As a workaround, I was thinking: a) pursue an AAS/RN path by taking evening courses at a local community college. Then do an RN->BSN online. b) take non-clinical nursing classes at a local college, transfer these credits to an accelerated BSN thus freeing up some time to work during the program. Which is the more feasible pathway? As to why I need a BSN - well, I'd like to go the nurse practioner route. Please advise. Thanks PS I'm in Virginia.

Fastest way to part-time education?
thanks - taking one class per semester, how long will it take you to complete the ASN/RN?

Fastest way to part-time education?
Hi - I already have a BS in a non-nursing subject and I have to work full-time 9-5. Knowing this, is there a path to become an RN part time (via night school and/or weekend clinicals). If so, what is the fastest path to do this (associates at a CC?). Please advise. Thanks.

Working during Accelerated BSN?
Hi - I know most schools discourage working during this program, but how feasible would working be? I'm a psychologist looking to get an NP degree (mainly just for an RxP pad), and was wondering if I could see a handful of clients per week. Feasible? What are the hours like? The program I'm looking at is George Mason's 12-month program (47 semester credits). If not feasible, I don't think I could pull it off financially - any part-time workarounds for a second-degree BSN (in-state in Virginia)? Thanks.

Moving to Charlottesville...
Thanks for the reply! I saw the UVA direct-entry masters, but that appears to lead to a nurse leader (not sure if that would help with becoming an NP, specifically a PMHNP) I was unaware of the change for NPs by 2015. Do already established NP's get grandfathered? That would certainly motivate me to get the NP done faster... :)

Moving to Charlottesville...
...to complete a 2-year post-doc in clinical psychology. I'm interested in also getting a NP degree (for RxP) afterwards, and was wondering if I could chew away at some of the courses during my post-doc - specifically, any part-time BSN courses that could be taken in the evening (or online). Alternatively, should I just wait till after my post-doc to do an accelerated BSN? I'm a bit eager to end schooling, so rather multitask with my post-doc.
