  1. I graduated with my ADN in December 2010 and have been having difficulty getting even an interview for a job. When I went to get my BLS renewal the instructor and I talked for quite a bit after I passed the test. She offered me a job to watch her mother, who has dementia and CHF, from 11pm to 7am while my CPR instructor got some much needed rest. I will be in the same house as the CPR instructor while I am watching her mother. I currently do not have liability insurance. Even though I will not be acting in the role of a nurse, but I also know that I am still accountable for doing what a pertinent nurse would do in any situation that may arise. So my question is..should I take the job, it will only be for a few days or so, when I do not have liability insurance?
  2. Hello allnurses, I am a recent graduate with my associate degree nursing. I graduated in December 2010 and have been actively looking for a job since November 2010. I have applied to countless jobs and have not yet to receive a single interview. I am not sure what to do. Since a lot of my classmates who have received jobs had positions as CNAs previously my mom is convinced that I should apply to get my CNA. Can an RN get their CNA? Also, would a hospital hire a CNA who is an RN? I really need help being pointed in the right direction. I have also considered further my education and get my BSN to help me get a job. I have always planned on continuing my nursing education, but I did not plan on doing so until I had worked as a RN for a year. I was wondering if anyone here has received their BSN form University of Phoenix (online) and if this is a good idea to help me with standing out from other new grads for jobs. Anyone information or suggestions would be very helpful and appreciated. Thanks, sjb87
