  1. Hi snwboardgrl, Do you live near campus? Please PM me and we can work something out. As for the interview process, I know you guys are super anxious, as was I. Some interview questions I remember being asked were, Why do you want to be a nurse? Tell me about a situation you were in where you had to make an ethical decision, What past experiences have you had that will help you as a nurse? How do you deal with stress? And, how have you prepared yourself for the demands of this program? Hope that helps. And for our cohort, everyone who was accepted had an interview.
  2. Hi everyone! I'm currently in my last semester of the ABSN program at the Mount. If there's one thing I'd really recommend to you guys, it is to TAKE THE BIOETHICS CLASS before you start the program. This will save you a lot of time during the program and allow time for studying in between classes. I planned on taking bioethics from Taylor University, but the timing didn't work out for me. I really regret it, because the students that already had it complete had an easier time. Good luck you guys!
  3. Hi Kalami, I hadn't looked into housing because I'm planning to commute. I live in the San Gabriel Valley so I'm hoping the traffic won't be too bad. Did they tell you what your position was on the waitlist? I was #3. I wonder if the tuition is what was causing people to decide against MSMC. I'm already a bit nervous about how I'm going to finance my education! If there's anyone who's currently attending, could you please let me know where you took out loans from? Thanks!
  4. Hi everyone, I just received a call from Admissions, and I'm in!!! They're going down the waitlist so for anyone who is still waiting, there's still hope! Can't wait to meet you all in the Fall!
  5. Thanks for the info Lilly! I'm trying not to give up hope!
  6. Hi Lilly! Good luck on the NCLEX! I am not a student at The Mount yet, but I have been waitlisted for the Fall class. I was wondering if you happened to know if there were any students from your cohort that actually got pulled from the waitlist? It's just driving me crazy having to do more waiting. Thanks for any info you can provide!
  7. Has anyone else been waitlisted? Just trying to get an idea of how many people are on the waitlist. Thanks!
  8. dmskoka, Thanks for the encouragement! I'm trying to not lose hope just yet, but the wait is making me so anxious!
  9. Hi Everyone! Thank you all for your responses, they have been very helpful! I am keeping my fingers crossed that I will get a spot this fall!
  10. Quick question for those who were accepted. Have you all finished all of your prereq's or do you still have some in progress? Just curious if that had anything to do with me being waitlisted, as I currently have 4 prereq's still in progress. Thank you and again, congrats!!!
  11. TouchHealth, thank you for the encouragement and I'm really sorry that you cannot attend due to your financial situation. Hopefully when your financial situation improves, you'll be able to reapply and get another acceptance!
  12. Just checked my status and it says "waitlisted". Anyone happen to know if people on last year's waiting list actually got in? Congrats to those who were accepted!! Guess I'll have to try again for the summer start!
  13. At the end of my interview, Anne said that decision letters would be mailed out June 8th and 9th, so I'm thinking we'll probably be receiving them at the end of this week? *Fingers crossed* Has anyone called to verify?
  14. Congrats Mary! I'm glad you got the interview as I was sad that you were beginning to lose hope. I wish everyone the best of luck during this "waiting period". I don't know about the rest of you, but I have trouble sleeping at night!
  15. Hi Chris! I'm not sure if you're still on these forums, but it's been a year since you were accepted so I was wondering if you could tell me a little bit about how you felt about the program. Was it more or less difficult than you thought it would be? How did you manage your school and clinical work with your personal life? I just had my interview last week and am waiting to hear back (fingers crossed).
  16. Mary, don't give up hope. If anything you can just renew your application for the next term. I heard that you have a better chance when you apply for the summer start because they don't get as many applications. good luck!
  17. Hello All, I am new to this forum but would just like to share my experience with you guys, since these threads have helped me prepare for the interview. I received an interview invite via email this past Tuesday 5/26. My interview was this afternoon with Anne (the director of the A-BSN program). She was a very nice lady and she made me feel very comfortable during the interview. She basically asked me the same questions that we were asked on our personal statement, as well as "How do you handle stress?". The interview lasted about 35 minutes and she said that they will be interviewing all through next week as well. She said decisions will be made June 8th-9th and that we will be receiving letters through the mail regarding whether or not we are accepted into the program. Best of luck to everyone, I hope my post has helped someone.
