Congrats to you all!!! I am just finishing up my first semester in the program. I really love it. It is a lot of work but doable as other people have said.

I agree with what everyone else has said and I have just started. I bought the blue Saunders book, but on Amazon it says there is going to be a new one released this fall. I haven't used it much yet, but can see that is going to be a great resource. Apparently, the 2010-2011 group's cirriculum going to be slightly different, but I'm sure it will still be fine. Most of the people ahead of me say its a lot of work but they love it. I agree about the instructors. Good luck to you!!

We just had one drop out of our group and we just started a few weeks ago

My instructor told us yesterday that for the people starting this fall they are going to make it a 3 day seminar type thing. I'm not sure for the people after that, but it sounds like you will be able to fit it in before you start, kind of like an extended orientation. Good luck to you :)

Hi, Last year they took about 160, the March group are not alternates. They have increased the number they are accepting. I have not heard for this year if it will be the same amount. Good luck to you :)

Yes, I bought mine at the school bookstore and will meet you soon I still have to get bp cuff, pen light, scissors and nurse pack. I think I have everything else.

Thanks for the info, I thought that it might be easier to carry around a pda or ipod touch instead of a big book :) I was wondering what else the program is used for.

I was wondering if anyone is using the skyscape nursing software and what your opinion is about it? I am starting in a month and had heard about it. If you use it, how did you hear about it? Did a teacher recommend it? Any advice would be great!! Thanks Mzam2012

I have lab on Friday as well and I believe we won't need the uniforms until the 2nd week of lab and we have our first then we are off a week for spring break so that will give you an extra few weeks

Yes I bought a used one a while ago at the orientation and will probably order another one later when we have clinicals. Hopefully they will come in time. I know someone from our group who will be on Saturdays with you

Gemberly, This is a seperate subject, are you the one who has the hearing impairment? If so, I wanted to ask you what stethascope you ended up buying and how you like it. I can't decided whether to get the electronic one or not. My friend got the cardiac III and I can't really hear out of it. Any advise you can give would be great. Mzam2012

Hi I'm starting the nursing program in March at MCC. I was wondering if there is anyone who has already started or graduated that bought an electronic stethoscope. I am deaf in one ear and I tried the Littman Cardiac III from my friend and I could not hear the sounds. Any help would be great. I have checked and there is not any stores that carry the electronic models to try out. The only advice I have been given is that the electronic model might be a little heavy to wear and if someone already has one and finds it comfortable your input would be great. Thanks, Mzam2012
