What kind of funding (if any) do they offer? As a single person in my 40's with a mortgage to pay, I'm not sure how I'd pull of the $70k tuition bill but love the idea of getting my masters degree in 21 months. Like another poster, I think I have a strong background in high gpa, long history of volunteer work & experience in a hospital setting. Still, with a 10% acceptance rate, I'm sure many great candidates may still be turned away. Any experience folks in this program have had with grants, scholarships & loans that they can share would be greatly appreciated.

What's the tuition like at Umass for this program? Any stats on the amt of financial aid folks get there?

I'm pleasantly surprised as well that you even got a response. I really wish you well. As I said, I think the hospital itself is a great place to work; I'm just frustrated with HR. Keep me posted. :)

NWH is a great place to work but the HR dept is *HORRIBLE* so unless you know someone there to get in the backdoor for an interview, forget it! Yes, it is a union shop. New grad programs are limited and I've heard they've been filled for this year. Attrition is at an all time low right now, b/c of economy and folks realize NWH is great place. Couple of years ago, we were relying heavily on travelers. Not anymore. Many travelers have come back to us as permanent staff now. Good luck to all searching. I work right now as an admin here and am working on prereqs for nursing school. I'm hoping things will turn around again in a couple of years so that I might actually find a job when I graduate.

Hey, wait... are you saying that some folks actually got accepted without having the all the prereqs done yet? that seem surprising since they stressed in the info session that you had to at least have the prereqs done before applying (but not necessarily the co-reqs). Since I have my Bachelor's degree in another field, I have alot of the reqs. I just need Drug calc, A/P I & II, and Microbiology. After that it's just the nursing courses and I'm done. I've signed up for the Drug calc class next week and then A/P I for the fall. I did order the Study guide for the TEAS test and will be working on that to really prepare for the exam. If you don't mind me asking, how did you do on the test and what did you find the most challenging on it?

So feel free to send your professor's name and any other info or impressions on what it was like to do the work/studying during the hybrid class. I'm really leaning towards doing it that way because of my schedule too. I think I'm pretty disciplined and will work hard to memorized the work on my own. Congratulations! I'm hoping to apply after the fall semester (since I still have two prereqs to complete). No knowledge of Bunker Hill other than what I heard in the info session, but wanted to wish you well. :)

Has anyone taken the Hybrid A&P Level 1 class at Bunker Hill CC? I need just one prereq (A/P I) before applying but because I work evenings full time, think that the Hybrid class would make the most sense for my schedule. However, having been out of school for a while, and knowing how tough this class is supposed to be, I'm not sure that doing it on line makes the most sense. I am computer savy, and am hard working, but am dying to hear from others who took it online. What were the challenges? Would you do it again that way?
