empresz, yeah wish us both luck. I really hope i can get away with the WU grade. Do you or anybody know if it is easy or less competitive to get into the summer or fall program for AccBSN at MSMC?

Mount St. Mary's College LA - Accelerated BSN 2009
Thanks empresz. I really appreciate your input. I recalculated (forgot to calculate some summer course from years ago) my gpa and its actually 3.1. What i am worried about is the WU - unauthorized withdrawal grade. I've called the university where i took the class and it seems like i may not be able to retake or do anything about the WU grade since i took this undergraduate course AFTER i received my BS degree. This WU grade is counted as an F at the graduate level. Anyone know if MSMC will hold this against me? Without the WU grade i should have no problem fulfilling their requirements. Without the WU my gpa will be atleast 3.1 with the Wu my gpa will drop to like 1. Anyone have any experience with this? I can't get an answer from MSMC until june 16 when i go to their info session. I really hope MSMC will work with me on this.

Mount St. Mary's College LA - Accelerated BSN 2009
Hi All, I am new to the site. I have a couple of questions regarding AccBSN program at MSMC. Does anyone know how MSMC deals with U-unauthorized Withdrawal on transcript? Its an upper division class that i took a while back after i had already received both degrees. Its a business class that has nothing to do with the health field. Also, does anyone have any info on how flexible MSMC is on prerequisite courses? One of my degree is Social Work. Many of my classes in social work are very similar to MSMC prereq requirement for Human Nutrition and Lifespan/Developmental Psychology. Also my overall GPA for both degree combined is 3.0. If i happen to fall below 3.0 slightly, will MSMC take this into consideration?

Advice on RN career
Hi Everyone, I'm thinking of becoming an RN. I'm currently taking a couple of prerequisite so that i can get into an accelerated BSN program. I currently have two undergraduate degree unrelated to health. My long term goal is to hopefully make it to a graduate level to perhaps a crna (perhaps i'm dreaming too much!). My overall GPA is about 3.1. I have a few Cs and a D with a couple of Ws. What are my chances of becoming an RN and possibly making it to the graduate level? Any advice will be greatly appreciated. Also, do nursing school look at the total overall GPA of classes taken or do they only look at the GE courses taken because i have taken numerous classes for both undergrad degrees as well as just for leisure. At the moment, i have a pretty good job and making pretty good money (about 68k a year). Being an RN and going into that field is something i have always wanted to do. Supporting my family, and trying to make ends meet financially have always prevented me from having the time to do a nursing program. In last few years i have been able to save alot of my salary and am ready to take a year or so off from work so i can go to nursing school full time. Would anyone advise against this? How tough is it for an entry level RN to find a job southern california? Being an RN is something i am very passionate about. At the moment i am ready to give up my current job to start this new career path. Any advice would greatly be appreciated. Advice with school or or which school has a fast RN or BSN program or anything relating to my choices would be greatly appreciated.
