  1. Jasporro congrats on getting a part time job. It sounds great. I'm currently not working right now but I'm thinking of getting one after I get a feel for the program. I would love to get some extra cash while going to school. I might also move to sf if I get a cheap place. It will be tough and frugal for the next two years but hopefully we all make it. I would also love to set up a study group with you if you feel up to it. And we can also get study tips from lillykiss. Lol! Have u read up yet? I'll be reviewing my math as Lilly suggested. Thanks Lilly! Jasporro looking forward to seeing you at orientation. Have u taken the mabs challenge yet?
  2. Thanks for the reply! I already got most of the books that i will be needing. I will start pharm book reading soon. How's you classes going? I'm also about to order my uniforms but its so expensive! I will be coming from oakland and debating between carpooling and bart. Do you have any studying tips? Is the pharmacology class gonna be tough? Thanks again!!!:clown: !
  3. what is the daily routine or schedule? Are classes everyday? what time do you start in the morning and what time do you usually get off? I'll be travelling from out of the city so I'm still in the process of figuring out how to get there more effectively. Exam is everyweek?! Are they quizzes? or actual exam-midterms? When do you start clinicals during the first semester? I apologize I have a lot of questions and thanks for answering my post!
  4. hello! I also got into the spring for ccsf. I just wanted to know how it's like. Do you start clinicals right away? And what's this concern about starting spring versus starting fall. I don't quite get or understand the possible disadvantage on which semester you are supposed to start. Will I not graduate right away? Can you give tips on how to study for the first semester and what should i expect? I would love to hear more from you about this program. Thanks!
  5. Oh my! They didn't even give you the books you paid for? That's a very weird college! I'm glad you seem happier at this new school of yours and I'm sorry about your bad experience at merritt. Thanks for replying. I think I might go to ccsf. I've seen stuff online about merritt and it does sound bad. I heard that it's a tough school, so I was assuming that if you graduated from their tough program, you would have an advantage over other schools after graduation. But it really is starting to sound they are just plain being mean.
  6. hi! thanks for answering my question! :yeah:when you say "rigorous"... do you mean hard as in I'm going to die in the clinicals rigorous or just competitive in their clinical performance. Does the clinical experience or opportunity varies in different colleges? Does it really put a great impact after graduating if you came from a school with alot of clinical experience versus a school with less clinicals? Thanks!!!!
  7. In terms of getting a job after graduation, which school is better to attend for nursing adn. City college of san francisco or Merritt college oakland (not samuel merritt)?
  8. So I got into ccsf for spring 2011. I was wondering if anyone can tell me more about this school? How are the classes, instructors, clinicals? Where do you do your clinicals? Can you tell me more about the exams? Is this a good school to graduate from? I know our economy is at a freeze right now and so are the hiring for any jobs, but is it easy to find a job once you graduate from this program? How do you compare ccsf from Merritt college in Oakland? I would really appreaciate it if someone can give me some info! Thanks!
  9. I've been recently accepted as alternate into merritt fall 2009 nursing program. Does anyone know how this works? I tried to ask questions but the department won't give me answers. I also read so many horror stories about the program at merritt. I guess if you failed at one nursing school, it will follow you with every new nursing school you apply to. But how does this alternate thing work? Does anyone know? Is this something recent?
