  1. Hey there. My first degree was in Geophysical Engineering and I graduated with a 3.8 gpa. I've been told by friend's who went through the program at OHSU that the students come from a wide range of backgrounds (i.e. engineering, liberal arts, etc..), so don't let that be a big worry. I also know that they choose students based on their cumulative gpa and their essay, so get those A's and have LOTS of people critique your essay. Also, when I applied I still had BI233 and Human Development left so it's definitely not a deal breaker. Oh, one more thing, if you haven't done so already get your Hepatitis B shots. I know you can enroll without having all your immunizations completed, but Hep B is a 6 month series of 3 shots and I don't believe you can do any clinical stuff without them. Good luck!
  2. Received my welcome packet last friday. Looks like orientation is actually on Friday, June 11th. See you then!
  3. Hey Lab Rat! Congrats on getting in. I too got a phone call on Monday saying I got in, so it looks like we may be hanging together for 15 months. According to the academic calendar on OHSU's website the student orientation is on the 21st of June. See you then! - Dusty
  4. Hi, I'm interested in applying for the accelerated BSN program at OHSU (2010 start) and was wondering if anybody out there has been through the process and has a better idea what OHSU is looking for when they choose students for the program. Aside from what's posted on OHSU's website (>3.0 gpa, pre-reqs, etc..) do you know if there's anything else they use, such as a point system, to determine who gets in? I'll be finishing my pre-reqs prior to matriculation, but I won't be done with them before I apply. Do you know how much, if at all, this would hurt my chances of getting in? Thanks a bunch. - Dusty
