Pay in Denver for experienced MSN?
Hello All, I am Jeff. I am in the Air Force and will be getting out soon and plan on moving my family to Denver, probably South Metro for school district wants.... Needless to say I am interested in what I would potentially make (money). I have been a Nurse for 11 years now and have worked in the following; Burn ICU, CCU, Neuro ICU, Trauma ER, Chest Pain Centers, and now most recently I am an Operating Room Nurse. I have a Masters in Executive Nursing Administration from a traditional 4 year university although I am not working in Management. Not opposed to it either. All I see in reference to pay here is related to new grads. By the time I get there I will have 13 years Nursing behind my belt. Would anyone happen to have an idea on what the pay is for a nurse with my experience and education? Just ballpark it. Hope to hear from some of you guys....

Practicing without a license
My Goodness! Not only does the Tech need to be prevented from getting her License but YOUR Manager should be reported as well for doing nothing. I Will be happy to do it if you don't just give me the info. Also if you don't do it yourself it could be viewed as aiding and abeding.

New and tired
Thanks for the support guys, I appreciate it. I may look to you for ortho support as I have no one here to train me. The other ortho manager left before I had a chance to train with them. I am on my own! And I do have to know every OTHER specialty too as I will be on call a lot. I just happen to manage ortho.

New and tired
Try this on for size... I whole heartedly feel you pain. I was an ER Nurse for 9 years and was the go to person there. Now I feel like I am in the twilight zone in the OR. It is completely different, however I love it. I too feel like an ulcer about to erupt. I started the 12 week OR class in Jan of this year, which is the military version of the AORN Class, 1 month didactic and 2 months circulating. Then I moved to my new base and job. Oriented for 2 weeks, and had to go to a leadership lab for 5 weeks (totally unrelated to anything medical, something I have to do to get promoted to Major). Now here I am i re-started my orientation in July after the leadership lab and 1 August is the end of my orientation; 6 weeks total and to top it off I will be the Nurse Manager for Ortho. Not only am I a new OR Nurse but am now the supposed resource for Ortho? I wish I had the orientation you guys speak of!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Brand Spanking New OR Nurse
Hey Guys/Gals I have been an ER Nurse now for 9 years and just finished the OR Nursing Course. I am now working in the OR and love it, however I feel like I have crossed into the twilight zone. This is another realm of Nursing, and I feel as though I just graduated Nursing school all over again. Man, I can not wait to feel even somewhat comfortable in my rooms. I do Love it but I hate feeling like I am retarded.
