  1. actually, after the first 16 months we do get a bsn. so it's kind of an accelerated bsn/entry level msn program. i don't know if they changed it recently or something, but i know for my cohort this is the case.
  2. Hey, thanks for replying! I actually decided with csulb to save myself the money..when i spoke to the director at msmc, she said that she wasn't sure if those scholarships would be available and without a scholarship, i'd be in a pretty crappy position despite finishing school in 12 months. i agree with you about the rushing on the msn..i will most likely just finish my bsn (16 months) and start working then try to figure out what i'd like to master in.
  3. Hi Flyingfish, I was wondering how you're doing now and if you're happy with your decision to do the accelerated program at msmc. i'm trying to decide between the absn program at msmc and the el-msn program at csulb. money and location is a huge factor for me, especially since msmc isn't sure if kaiser, torrance, and northridge will be offering the forgivable loans. i live about 15 minutes from csulb and about 35 minutes from msmc with no traffic. i know that msmc has a great reputation though and i'm willing to get a loan if it's better for me in the long run. your thoughts?
  4. Hey Sarah, I'm in the same position you were in 5 years ago and I wanted to see what decision you made and if you're happy with it. There are so many factors to consider with both schools and I'm having a hard time making this decision. (crossing my fingers that you still check this email :nuke:). Thanks!
  5. I'm deciding between CSULB and MSMC.. So far, it seems like MSMC has a better reputation even though it costs an arm and a leg. I thought I decided on CSULB (because its closer and cheaper), however, my aunt who's an OR nurse at Cedars Sinai commented that when they receive applications from a MSMC graduate, they don't interview them, they just hire them because of the level of training that the students exhibit. I also spoke to a nurse from Long Beach Memorial who said that when CSULB students start the program (esp. the EL MSN students), they don't have the same skills as students that come from a community college. YIKES! Thoughts on this anyone???
