I went ahead after the mess with HEDIS last year and signed up to be a nurse coder. Which is hard. we get paid $5 per chart which have never averaged out for me to be anymore than around $10 an hour, if that. I don't take many charts for them but I did it with the hopes that I could try HEDIS again this year. I really need the money. Low and Behold they screwed me out of HEDIS all together. These are the lying bunch of people i've ever seen in my life. I am an employee who they have had no problems with whatsoever so there was no call for the way they've done me. I am looking for something else now that I can do with my schedule. Don't even give them a second thought, you are beat before you get started. I think it would be funny if they could find no one to work for them.

Has anyone used the Secrets of the TEAS exam by Morrison Publishing? I am sweating blood over this. There is just so much to have to know I don't know where to start. I am so majorly dumb in Algebra/Math.

Unfortunately, I have had a bad exdperience with Outcomes in KY this year. I am doing Hedis and they wanted us to abstract 50 charts a day. I ordered 50 everyday and have gotten maybe 600. They decided after we started apparently to have special groups for each measure. They picked new people over old employees. Me and lots of my friends had good irr scores but none of us got picked and one of my friends had worked there 2 plus years. It was like they picked a few people in no particular way and they got all the chart assignments. I know one lady who to date had gotten over 3,000 charts. I was so excited to be a part of this but have been let down considerably. According to people I know that have done this in the past it is never like it has been this year. Needless to say everyone but the special measure groups got the leftovers. Many of us had turned down other work to do Hedis and many of us went out and bought new computers in hopes of being able to do the best job. I feel like they may have a hard time finding people next year. I for one wouldn't try it again.
