  1. Thanks so much - this is all very helpful. Again I appreciate your feedback and experience. Glad to hear how much you like your job - that's great. It makes it so much easier to get up and go to work every day. Thanks again.
  2. Thank you tlsaegesser - I appreciate your feedback and the time in writing your responses. If you don't mind my additional questions (I've never worked in OB, not since nursing school over 20 years ago). You mentioned an endocervix brush and paddle and broom - what are they? I'm not familiar with the terminology. Thanks for your patience. Also - if there are internet sites that would explain these terms in greater detail - I would appreciate that info too. Thank you. Mary K.
  3. I have a question about those nurses who work in OB/GYN office. After a woman has a pelvic exam and pap smear- what are the nurse's duties as far as preparing the slide and sending to pathology - or does the doctor do that? Please let me know generally step by step what the normal routine is. Thanks
  4. Hi All, I just registered here on allnurses and work in quality improvement at a MCO. For the most part, my HEDIS experiences have been positive; however, every now and then I have come across staff at doctors' offices who have been rude and hostile. Anything to make our job more difficult. Just inquiring if anyone else here have had bad experiences or horror stories you'd like to share. Our HEDIS season will soon be coming to a close. I think, by the time we are done, I'll have reviewed over 1000 charts and visited about 180 offices since early March. Looking forward to hearing from you QI nurses who do HEDIS or any other chart review project. mmad09
