  1. I'm going to be entering an RN nursing program soon, and I'm wondering how people are about hair colors/styles as a nurse. See, I currently have pink hair [which I know is NOT going to fly, and I have to get rid of] but I was wondering if a dark reddish pink http://c3.ac-images.myspacecdn.com/images02/3/l_90b470e67bec46949d3897d8ff75a6b6.png If that's completely out of the question I'm just going to go a very platinum blonde, so please don't yell at me about my ridiculous hair color choice. :]
  2. Thank you very much! Sorry for the late reply. :] I've been thinking of doing a year in medsurg first, even though it's not really what I want to do, but at least that way I know I can get a job if anything ever goes wrong in my psych job later down the road rather than being "denied" for being a psych nurse only. Thanks!
  3. How hard would you say it was/is to find a psychiatric nursing job for a new RN? In comparison to other RN positions? I figure the opportunities will be a little smaller due to smaller units, but I just want a general idea. I'm not going to be graduating until Dec '11 so I don't think looking on monster or the like will quite help me just yet.. Also, I'm in a sub urban/urban area; jacksonville florida to be precise. It's definitely not a small town, but its no new york city either. :)
  4. Hello everyone. I'm REALLY sorry if this has been asked a thousand times before, but I have tried searching everywhere and can't really find a conclusive answer to my question, so here we go.. I'm currently in a program where I'm going to have my RN and Associates degree and all that... But I'm confused as to how I can get a job working in psych. if I'm an RN, can I just apply for a job at a mental hospital/etc? Or do I need some special certification? And if I do need it, how do I get it, how long does it take, etc? Once again, sorry for the mundane question, but every website says something different, and I can't find a conclusive answer. Thank you for the help.
