  1. yeah I finish my finals yesterday, and finally bought my books today. Whew!! You're right those books are heavy and pricey. I am also looking forward to meeting everyone on Friday. Good luck to everyone still taking finals!
  2. Thanks!! My advising appointment is April 19, I also very excited!! I was nervous too, but watching nursing students' diaries on youtube helped me feel more confident. I recommend watching them, you get lots of tips and advice about studying, time management, and clinicals. Some even told funny stories about little mistakes they made in clinicals!
  3. Did anyone receive a financial aid award letter after they were accepted into the program? When I applied I chose summer 2010, so I do not know how that affects it. When I contacted financial aid, I was told that my package was still being put together. I also was told that I don't have to request aid for summer becuase I did not receive aid already for the fall 2009 year. I know that I don't qualify for any grants because I already have a degree. I also applied for the 2009-2010 Fafsa last year in March.
  4. Actually I an enrolled to take the CPR course at Flo Valley, where I am finishing u my prereqs. Thanks for the info about Hep B, I live in Saint Louis County and contacted one of their health centers, and was told it cost $5 if if funds are still available and I have to provide proof that I am in nursing school. To Libra_8, thanks for the info I went to continuing education office and registered for the course, it cost $60! Yeah, I would love to meet up for lunch, if I have time, lol.
  5. I am nervous but also excited! Wow, you way ahead of me. I wish I had everything done!! I still have to do my physical/shots and the certification. How do you register for the training at Flo?
  6. Where is everyone going to get their CPR certification?
  7. I am taking HGD on campus. I don't have to take jr.level writing because I already have a bachelors degree(its waived). I know exactly who you talking about she mentioned you.Iknow she is doing the program at Barnes
  8. Guess what? Last Thursday,I got my acceptance letter!! Thanks to everyone for their support!! I thought I wasn't going to get in,after finding out I was on the waiting list, and there where a lot of applicants. Now, I need to focus on finals!
  9. Right now I am taking AP 2, Microbiology, and Nutrition, next semester I only need to take Chemistry and Growth and Development.
  10. Congratulations guys, unfortunately you right, I didn't know that may people applied for the early admit deadline. My letter says I am qualified, but I am #3 on the waiting list. That's good that I am high on the list ,but if that many people applied I am not sure. I can do the traditional track, but I have to let them know before March 01,2010. Hopefully, by then I moved up on the list,so guys wish me luck!! Again congrats to you guys, I am not the sad I didn't get a spot and I consider the traditonal track a good option, since I only have like two more prequisites left to take in the winter.
  11. I also applied in August to UMSL and to the accelerated nursing program, it took them a month to process my application, I just checked MyView, and I got admitted for general admission. I think it takes a month before you find out if you admitted to the accelerated program.
  12. Update: I am in my last week of the 6 week summer session, and I am doing well so far. I got mostly A's on my lecture and lab exams, with an exception of an 89 one one lecture exam. My teacher drops your lowest lecture exam grade, so I will try to get a 100 on my last lecture exam. I found that Netter's Anatomy Flachcards are really useful for studying the human anatomy, especially the muscles. I have one lab exam left too this week. I wish that everyone is doing good in their studies!
  13. I have class at 2:30pm to 5:45pm from Monday to Thursday, lab and lecture everyday.
  14. I am takind A&P 1 this summer at a cc, for 8 weeks. It starts in June, and thanks for recommending the coloring book, I am going to need all the help I can get!
  15. Thanks for responding! I spoken to the advisor and she assured me that most applicants take classes the winter semester. You just have to have your teacher send a letter telling what grade you earned to UMSL, or if your grades are posted online, email/send a copy of that.
