  1. I would like your feedback too Hurleygrly...Any info would be appreciated.
  2. Calinurse2011 I have a ton of questions too...Glad that I am not the only one!
  3. Congrats to everyone! I am so happy that there are finally some more posts about accepted people. I look forward to meeting everyone in January. We will be a great support system for each other...It is going to be one crazy year!!!
  4. Calls might be going out next week too...They may be waiting to see who accpets from the first round of calls. They have to find out which program the people who got accepted into the FNP/CM and the ABSN are going with. Once they find that out by 10/1, then there will probably be more acceptances made b.c. that will open up some spots.
  5. With the amount that the program costs, you would think they would take whoever can pay...I have no idea how many people they are accepting this year.
  6. I missed the call and listen to the voice messge. As the previous poster said, we have to decide by October 1st. I think this is so they can figure out the rest of the class and make the remaining calls. I think a lot of people will choose the FNP/CM if they applied to both! Good luck!
  7. I just got a call for Samuel Merritt! I got in to the ABSN program. I only applied to this program at the Sacramento campus. My stats: (they are above but I figured noone wants to wade through all the posts to find them) TEAS: 86 Reading 100 Math 87 Science GPA: 3.71 Last 60: 3.65 Volunteered for about 2.5 months on a L&D floor Worked as social worker 2 years Have lived overseas 2.5 years....Not sure if this makes a difference or not Graduated with honors and double major (psycholgy & sociology) I am so happy and relieved...Good luck to the rest of you! I look forward to matching your messages with your faces come January.
  8. Umm...YES, ABSOLUTELY!!! It seems like only one has been given a call so far though....I just keep hoping they all choose the ELMSN...That will open up spots for us!
  9. Ckrs, I am assuming the same thing about people applying to both programs...It seems like they would automatically be accepted in the ABSN, but will most likely choose the FNP/CM program...The ABSN was probably a back up option.
  10. I am assuming the same as you, Victory....She got into the harder program, so it seems like she would automatically be accepted into the BSN program as well...It also seems like many people apply to both so the waitlist for the ABSN may be forgiving...If the applicants who got accepted in to the ELMSN, also applied to the ABSN, and choose the ELMSN, then the waitlist will move up quickly...Here's to hoping, right?
  11. Wow, your stats are AWESOME!!! Congrats at being accepted to both!
  12. I don't want to be nosy Nancy but would you mind letting us know what your stats were....I wonder if I am not in, since they said they were reviewing my application and I did not recieve a call. Hmmmm.....I am being psycho.....I know. Good luck to everyone! This is stressful!
  13. I only applied to the Sacramento program. I just started the Human Development class, so it was the one that needs to be completed by 12/17. Hopefully, we all get in!!! :up:Good luck to you too!!! I hate the waiting..... mhfp
  14. Just an FYI: I got an email today stating that I have one prerequisite left and must show proof of completion by 12/17 if I am accpeted. Also, the email said that my application is with the faculty now, being reviewed....The header of the email had Application Reviewed in it, so of course, when I opened it I was so nervous, but it didn't say anything about being accepted. ...Not sure if this is good or bad or nothing (probably).
  15. So...does this mean they will start calling us, once they have made a decision? Or will they wait until October 1st to start calling? And, do rejections come in the form of a letter or do they make rejection calls too? Hmmmm....a stressfull next couple of weeks...
  16. I applied to the Sacramento cohort. If I weren't married with a 5 month old, I probably would have applied to all of them and wrote it off as an adventure. I would love to live in SF for a year but with my happy "baggage" it is not an option at all. And, the cost of living is outrageous.
  17. Yikes...So many posters with such good stats!!! I guess that is a good thing for the nursing profession. I just did a quick search and saw this posting..Looks like we will find out soon. I am not sure if I am ready to find out...Waiting is awful, but at the same time it means you haven't been rejected . My stats are as follows: Last 60 units: 3.65 Science classes:3.71 Teas: 86 overall Math:85 Reading: 100 I am hoping they find my background in social work useful...Will keep my fingers crossed for everyone! Good Luck...I am sure this board will be hoppin' in the next couple/few weeks!
  18. Any feedback is appreciated. I am interested in applying to the ABSN program at Samuel Merritt University in Sacramento. My long term goal is to receive my BSN, work for a couple of years, and then receive my MSN & licensure to practice as a Nurse Practitioner. Originally, I planned on doing an accelerated MSN program with FNP licensure, but I am not certain that I want to be an FNP. I figure I might as well get my BSN, work in a few specialties, and then choose my NP specialty. My main reason for considering Samuel Merritt is that it is a 12 month program. How competitive is the ABSN program at Samuel Merritt. I would like to get it right the first time, so I can start the program ASAP, instead of having to apply multiple times. Also, private universities are known to be less competitive, then public universities because of the costs associated with enrollment. Are there any other ABSN programs that are on the same timeline? Most that I have researched are much longer. I would like to know if there are any other options out there. My second question is about the lack of nursing jobs available in Northern Ca. I would like to work in Sacramento or the Bay Area (as would everyone else, from the sound of things). Is it possible to find a job? Samuel Merritt is very expensive and the thought of making a career change and accruing $50,000 of debt is really scary, especially if the job prospects are not looking too great. Any info is much appreciated! mhfp
