  1. Hi, I just got my acceptance letter for Spring 2010 Stratford campus...sooo excited:yeah:. Do you know when exactly classes are about to start? I'm so unprepared, I didn't expect this at all. Also, how are you planning to pay for it? I'm a little bit concern about financial aid...is it even possible to get everything together in less than a month?
  2. Thanks a lot AugustRain!!! After reading your thread I feel definitely a lot more confident. The only thing that worries me is the commute to clinicals. I live 60 miles away from Drexel...do you think that commuting and coping with the demands of the program is something achievable or I'll be shutting my self in the foot later? Do you know people who're commuting or everybody lives on or close to campus?
  3. That's a good point there CocoBelly! May be there are other options if you fail ACE. I'm still considering Jefferson though. Their prerequisites are pretty much the same, even less than Drexel's prerequisites, except for the extra 4 credits in Chemistry...and I have plenty of credits in Chemistry from my first degree so it doesn't really hurt for me to apply.
  4. Hi CocoBelly! I feel the same way you feel. At first I only worried about getting that acceptance letter but once I got it the reality hit me and I started looking into everything else that comes afterwards. As much as I want this, I feel very unsure whether I can do it or not. I've heard that Drexel's program is one of the toughest accelerated programs out there! What scares me the most is the clinical locations. I live so far from the school to begin with, if they send me to Delaware I have no clue what I am going to do...I'll be traveling for hours every day and I'll have no time left to study. Unfortunately, Drexel is my only option for now. I didn't get accepted at NJCU, which I expected, because the program starts this fall and I don't even have all of the pre-reqs yet. I'm still waiting for an answer from UMDNJ but I feel very skeptical because they require the ridiculous 95 in TOEFL and I got 92, so this option is out most likely too. I never considered Jefferson before but I think I might apply there as well. I don't know what to do anymore...it's just too much money to lose if you fail. I don't want to see myself next year at this time with no job, no degree and 20-25G in debt...It's scary!! For now I'm just trying to be positive and think that I'll not be the first or the last who's doing this...there're plenty of people who've done it before and have succeeded so I hope I will too...ahhh, we shall see...
  5. Hi CocoBelly...CONGRATS on your acceptance!:yeah:I'm really glad to know they finally accepted you. My letter sais 09-10 also, I was confused about that too but at this point I'm not worrying about it, I'll find out later. I've been so busy lately, I'm taking 2 classes (Dev. Psych. and Eng102) at the same time in Summer II semester, non of them is my favorite either. I was never good at writing essays so this is really hard for me. On top of that I'm working full time still and I'm relly feeling the pressure right now...I got an A in Stats but this won't be as easy...I wish I pass, that's all I'm asking for:bowingpur:bugeyes:. Once this is over with I'll have to straighten up my immunizations...I don't have a record for everything so I know I'll have a headache...
  6. Hi, that's great! I'm glad things are working out for you:). So, they told you if you get an A in A&P you're in? So far I'm doing good too...I had two projects (got A's in both) and one exam (I don't know the grade yet), but I still have two more exams by the end of the semester, so we'll see...anyway, I'm not stressing too much over it. At this point as long as I pass I'm happy:D
  7. Hey CocoBelly, how is it going?:wink2:
  8. Hi, I'm accepted for the Spring 2010 semester and I'm a little nervous. Can anybody, who is/was in the ACE program already, tell me what your schedule was for the four quarters?
  9. Yeah, hopefully they will take all that into a consideration...I think if you get an A and a B in those two you'll make the cut. Enjoy the weekend...I'm working all weekend long:o
  10. I took A&PII and Micro last summer back to back, so I perfectly understand what you mean. It wasn't easy but I managed to get A's in both...plus, in my college the summer classes are only 5 weeks long ...you just have to study and you'll be fine! Are you taking another class in Summer II session in case you don't get an A in A&P? I'm taking Statistics right now and even though I have very strong background in math and science, I find it kind of hard to take this class in such a short period of time...
  11. Yeah lhtanyu...I don't want to disappoint you, I don't know what your financial situation is, but I wouldn't hope for a lot of money because it's a second degree. I'm worried about how I'm going to pay for it too. If I decide to go to Drexel (or any other school) I'll have to take private loans...I have never done this before and I don't know how it works...I'm not sure how easy it is to get the money...
  12. Congrats lhtanyu!...how many more prerequisites do you have to complete? It shouldn't take too long before you receive your award letter...a few weeks may be. I received mine before I received my admission letter, but I filed my FAFSA before I applied sooo...don't worry you'll get it soon. Are you from NJ by any chance? Are you going to Drexel for sure?
  13. WOW, that would upset me quite a bit! Good Luck!! I hope finally everything is straight and you receive your letter soon...
  14. lol you really have no intentions to leave them alone until you hold that letter in your hands haha...I don't blame you, I would be the same way if I didn't receive mine already. One thing about Drexel is that they are not too strict with admissions (I don't know if that's good or bad), but I'll be very surprised if they deny you. Just hang in there, you'll get it. I'm from Bulgaria...
  15. Thanks, I'm trying...it's been 4 years since I'm here...where is your family from? WOW, I'm very surprised they are still keeping you waiting...I got my letter pretty quickly...you should be getting something soon!
  16. Hi;)...ahh I started my statistics class this week and it's a mess...between work and school I don't have time for anything:specs:...it's not one of those fun classes either... CocoBelly, sorry for not answering your question earlier...no, I'm not from US (as you might have notised already from my writing) and my degree is in Bioengineering... Did you hear anything yet, or still waiting?
  17. This is really great that your parents are able and willing to help you. I have no choice, I have to take loans. I haven't heard anything about Obama's plan to help people who have lost their jobs...hopefully it's true. I’m not quite sure what kind of financial aid you said you’re not eligible for, I assume you’re talking about grants? The problem is that we are second degree students. I don’t think we’re eligible for anything else but Stratford loans. I’m also annoyed because my first degree is from another country and unlike most people who apply for this program I don’t have any loans from previous degrees. This is the first time I’m applying for government financial aid. Technically this is going to be my first degree from this country and I thought I was going to get more money BUT they gave me only $6,000 in Stratford loans for 09/10 school year. Very disappointed!!
  18. Yeah, the train seems to be the solution for now but I still have to drive 30-40 min to Trenton and take the train from there:cool:. I'm worrying mainly about clinicals, especially after the first quarter. I read that the second quarter is the worst...that's what is going to "make us or break us" and that's when we'll be going mostly on clinicals and then I'll have to drive. I would love to rent a place in Philadelphia but I'm married and that's why the idea is not so appealing to me, although I would consider it just because I really want to succeed in the program and I would do whatever I have to for an year...I'll have to find somebody who is in the same boat as I am to split the rent because I can't afford it... Talking about money...how are you planning to pay for the program? I guess because it's a second degree the government is giving me only 12K in Stratford loans, the rest I'm not quite sure where to get from. I'll have to meet with the financial aid people when I'm 100% sure I'm going to Drexel. Also, have you been to any of the info sessions?...I'm going on June 24th.
  19. I know I said that I'm not interested in housing but to be honest commuting from Jersey is freaking me out already! I don't know if I can handle this program in combination with at least 4 hours of commuting/day + it will be very expensive. You said before you might be interested in renting a house with somebody...how much do u thing it will cost?...I'm not familiar with Philadelphia at all and have no idea...if it's affordable I might be interested... Enjoy the holiday weekend!
  20. I believe they only look at the GPA before they send you a provisional acceptance...after you receive your provisional acceptance you have nothing to worry about but to pass the rest of the pre-reqs with C or better...I think that's the way it works... I remember that I received my admission letter about 2 weeks after they informed me that my application is complete...so it shouldn't take too long before you get yours too.
  21. That's good...I hope you find out soon and I hope it's good news, I know how painful waiting is... I'm not worrying too much about my transcripts; they sent me an admission letter already so now it is up to me to complete the rest of the prerequisites and then I'll have to send them another transcript anyway...
  22. msrouge, before you mentioned that we can take HESI 2 times, how do you know that? I took it today and it wasn't fun at all! The easiest part was Math, I got 100, but everything else was rough I thought. I got a score for each section but I didn't get an overall score + I'm not quite sure if they take only certain sections into a count or the whole exam. I'm pretty sure I got the required 80% but this is not competitive score...so now I know what the exam is like, I want to try again but I don't know if I can!? Where does it say that we have 2 chances to take it?
  23. I know what you r saying...apparently they have on record that I've taken classes at Camden College which I've never attended. I e-mailed them and told them that these r somebody else's records mixed in with mine but I haven't heard back and I have no idea whether they've corrected the error or not...sooo YEAHHH...they must be really busy OR they have no clue what they're doing...
  24. I would love to be close to campus for a year while in school because I live 60 miles away and commuting will be exhausting but unfortunately this is not an option for me...
  25. I'm pretty sure you'll get in...as long as you've met all the requirements. They admit quite easily. Do you know how much exactly the tuition for ACE is?
