  1. No worries, I am on my own starting Friday. I just went to nights this week and I'm all turned around. They gave me one day orientation for nights. That's it. I hope I get it. :) Thanks for all the encourging words you guys gave me.
  2. Started almost 4 weeks ago in July. Why is it contradicting MsSocialRN...all I was asking for was advice. Why would it matter if it were in May or July?Advice is advice...no???
  3. I grad from Nursing School in May and got a job in July. I have been on the floor for a total of 11 days now.....now I'm nights. Still having a hard time.
  4. Hi all-new to the boards. I have been very lucky to get a job right out of nursing school in May. But so far it's very overwhelming. I go home crying, thinking, is this really what I want. I love patient care but I'm having a hard time with time management and documentation. Also-new admissions and discharges is something we NEVER did in school. I thought I was prepared to take 4 patients but when adding in all this paperwork, I feel out of my element. I feel inadequate in my new position. Has anyone felt this in a new RN position or am I way over my head. Today was better having only three patients with total care but I'm terrified to lose my (preceptor) with me on a daily basis. I have two more weeks of preceptorship and I'm on my own. Please give me a vote of confident to stick with something I so loved in school or maybe I wasn't cut of for this. Thanks for reading.
  5. Good Luck
  6. I have three kids under 6, so I never took more than one science. But I did take a science, english (online) and speech once semester and it was just fine. But I also took a C for the science if that says anything.
  7. No I took all mine at DVC in Pleasant Hill. I have been applying for over three years to all the schools and this is the first one I came up on after being on the waitlist fro two years. :) How are the teachers now for the pre-req's at Napa? I took Pharmacology and Nutrition online through Solano and loved both instructors.
  8. hmmmm. I guess if it's that bad I can swith over to Solano. I'm in that school in Aug 2011. Good Luck to you and thank you for responding. I know for the first semester at Napa they have hired a new teacher. She was a student there and now has been an RN for 6 years and teacher first year. We ll see.
  9. Ohlone posted their lottery results on their website for Fall 2010 and Spring 2011 (I didn't make either) and Cal State East Bay sent out acceptance and waitlist letters last week. xxx fingers for Chabot for me, otherwise, Napa it is.
  10. Honeyeysm Did you finish the program? Can you give me any positive advise?
  11. Did you go here and has anything changed? I plan on starting in Aug 2010 after appliying foe the last three years no no avail but this school. Now I'm scared!!!
  12. Has anyone heard from Chabot yet?
  13. I just got my letter from Napa saying I start in Aug but I spike with Solano too and it looks like I'm up to start there next next year Aug 2011...I have been waiting for two years now, June.
  14. gottogetthere, Congrats! My best girlfriend just started last semester. She loves it!!! I did not git in this time, otherwise I would have received an email from them. Oh well, I have Chabot and Napa to fall back on. Although, I really am not excited about Napa's program (I heard horrible things about it) Best of luck to you and maybe next Spring I'll get into Ohlone :)
  15. Ah Bummer, that means I did not get in either. They do send emails out first to people who got in and on the alt list. CRAP!!! 3 times I have applied and nothing. Next Spring maybe......
  16. I have two friends in the program and they both LOVE LOVE it! They have 100% pass rate too so I've heard or they boast about. I called some local HR deptartments at hospitals and ALL OF THEM said Ohlone produces the best nurses in Bay Area. Something to be said about that. I applied to several school for this Fall and hoping I make Ohlone's. 3rd times a charm :)
  17. When I applied last fall...it was withen a few weeks after the 15th....look on their website for list of students they choose. I'll see you at application time. Teresa
  18. Her first time...it's really just luck of the draw with that school. She has no AA or BA...just finsihed her pre-req's. I am staying local becasue I have three kids under 5 years old. I have been on waiting lists for Napa and Solona for over a year...I will will be for sure in by 2010/2011 year.
  19. Oh I see now what your saying. I was 158 on that list. I applied to LMC, Chabot, Napa and Solano. I'm thinking of maybe going to get my LVC via provate school and then applying for LVN to RN...not sure yet....Hopefully next year for both of us!
  20. Good for you, congrayts! Your in with my friend Erin then, She took the TEAAS last night and passed. Have a great two years in school!
  21. My friend just got an email from Ohlone sayiong she is number 3 on waitlist....I got nothing....so dissapointing.
  22. Just got my rejection. It said 917 applicants applied only 521 were eligle and I wasn't one of them. SUCKS....please Ohlone come through for me.
