The HESI is also really important for admissions along with your GPA. On another note, do any of you senior nursing students out there have any advice for the nursing exams and the best way to prepare? There is a ton of material and I'm not sure how to go about studying (for the first time in my life)!

What if we already have an iPhone? Do we get some sort of reimbursement? I'm at work, haven't checked my mail yet today...can't wait!

Hey Nichole! I didn't know you were on here. I hope that the profile change is a good sign...I can't wait to hear. I did get into AIC but it's going to be expensive! About paying for day care...good question.

I just checked my profile on Webadvisor and it said the same thing. Nursing with a completion date of 2012...hmmmm. I'm not sure what to think because I hadn't looked at my profile prior to today, after I read all the comments. I don't want to get my hopes up but I hope this means we got in! Keeping my fingers crossed too!

I applied to multiple schools and got into AIC so far. I haven't heard from any of the others yet. I am not a traditional student as I already have a bachelors degree and decided to go back. I hope to hear soon and figure out my plans for the fall. Good luck with your applications!

I was wondering the same thing about the acceptance letters...I thought they were going to be sent out around the middle of April but if they come at the beginning even better! I am anxiously waiting...although I got into another program I still want to consider STCC.

Thanks for your input. I'm also trying to decide whether I want a bachelors or associate degree. I already have a BA in psychology but I think it would be valuable to have one in nursing as well (for job mobility).

I ended up with an 89 on the HESI and I am so relieved. I just have this week of finals and then I'm submitting my application...I hope I get in!!!!!

Thank you so much! I looked up their pass rate and it's 85%. Not as good as some of the other schools in the area but I'm sure the pass rate is also subjective. I will be applying there as well as the other schools but I obviously want to weigh my potential options. Are you currently a student in their program?

PS - Have you heard anything about AIC's nursing program? Good/bad? I am going to apply there too but can't find any info. on the quality of the program!

I did get the study guide but it's very much so an overview. I guess I'm just nervous about remembering everything I have learned in A&P 1 & 2. Do you think the study guide prepared you well for the A&P portion of the exam? I'm glad to hear you're enjoying the program, I will be applying to STCC, but to some other schools as well!

Hey Bananimal, any last words of advice for that HESI? I'm taking it on Thursday! I am finished with my prereqs next week and then applying! I'm soooo nervous. How's the program treating you?

Does anyone have any information about the nursing program at American International College in Springfield, MA? I can't seem to find any information about the quality of their nursing program, NCLEX pass rate, etc. Anyone with any information please reply!

A note on both the posts: I would never cheat on an online course and I can't believe someone would want to cheat their way through that calculations course or any other course for that matter. These are the types of calculations you need to know to be a nurse. Why would you not want to know them? I agree with you Bananimal, it is apalling. I am taking Microbiology and there is a girl in my class that has no interest in the subject, skips lecture and lab but wants to go to nursing school. She even had the audacity to ask me to borrow my lab book to copy an exercise she had missed. I just don't understand that kind of mentality. If you want to be a nurse, you should take an interest in these subjects and excel at them. I did well in the Med. Calc. course and doing well in my other course work too. I will be taking the HESI in a few months and applying in the spring, I can't wait!

Thanks, I actually called STCC and found out the stuff I needed. I'm about 1/3 of the way done with the course (I wanted to finish before the summer sessions start). During the summer I'll be working 9-5 and going to school 5:30-9:30! Yikes. On another note, you must be getting exited about starting the program in the fall. That's so great!

Oh, ok. I was taking some practice tests and those are also listed on the report page. So I'm assuming it's only the "final" tests that they use to calculate your score. Can you retake those tests...just curious...there is really no good explanation anywhere of how this class works. Thanks for your input!

So I started the Math for Nurses. I was wondering how they determine your grade...is it either Pass or Fail or do they assign a numeric value based on your test scores. I'm trying to figure that out but as it said on the site they do not take an average of you test scores...I'm working on the first test now.

Thanks so much for all the info. I am going to sign up for that Math for Nursing class soon and try to get it done before the summer session starts. It's going to be a busy summer as I'm taking classes in the evening and working full time!
