I am a new RN on a tele unit. I have about two years experience, only 6 months on tele. Anyway, I have never been in a code and I am pretty freaked out at the thought. If I walked into a code do I initiate CPR? We have a code team but I didn't know if you just wait for them or what. Can someone walk me through what would happen in a code. Thanks.
  2. I currently work on a trauma-surgical-ortho floor(approx. 1.5 years) and want to eventually go to ICU. However I am really nervous that I don't have the knowledge to do ICU. Really I think it's just my confidence in myself that I don't have enough of. I've done fine on my current floor with 6-7 patients on average. Should I go to telemetry first? Are there good ICU books that might give me some confidence. Thanks!
  3. I'm a RN on a surgical-trauma unit with a little over one year experience. I would eventually like to become an OHN. What kind of experience would be best to eventually get into this field and how many years experience are generally recommended? Thanks in advance for any replies :)
  4. Can anyone tell me what an RN as a pharmaceutical rep would do? I know companies require a BSN. I'm just curious what kind of work you actually do in this setting. Any replies greatly appreciated.
