  1. It's the "name a time when you..." questions that scare me! I try to prepare for everything but it seems like I always get a question during interviews that I stumps me. I just get too nervous. I'll be so glad when Friday is over! :) Thanks sjgimpel!
  2. Nursing interviews this week! Anyone as nervous as me? Mine's not until Fri. So I'll be thinking about it all week! Good luck everyone. Feel free to post some helpful hints :)
  3. Okay, you officially just freaked me out Nataliearice :) I'm going to be SO nervous!!
  4. I got my interview letter today too! I'm going to call Fran tomorrow to see if I am required to interview since I've been in the program once before...I'm crossing my fingers that I don't have to but I don't have high hopes. I'm so bad at interviews. I get so nervous. Anyone have any info as to other questions they might be asking??
  5. P.S. Anyone hear anything yet? Still no news here.
  6. From what I've read in some other threads, you should prepare for the typical job interview type questions. They will probably ask why you have chosen to pursue nursing and what experience you have in the medical field. Also found some information that said they may ask to tell about times when you dealt with difficult patients/customers and how you handled it. That is all I could find.
  7. Well, I still haven't heard anything. But I need some advice. Assuming I do get accepted and start school in January, I have to find daycare for my son who will be just over a year old. I've never had him in daycare. The going rate for decent daycares in my area (Smyrna) is $200+ per week. I haven't quite figured out how in the world to afford that on just my husbands salary. Does anyone know of anything decent but more affordable in Smyrna or Kennesaw areas? I can't take out that much in loans, that would be ridiculous. Any suggestions are welcome!
  8. Nope, I still haven't heard anything. I get my hopes up at the mailbox everyday though.
  9. Ok, that makes complete sense. I was wondering how so many people could say there was such a shortage of nurses but also be hearing of new graduates who couldn't find jobs. Hopefully it will get better soon...hopefully everything will get better soon. I've been trying to sell my condo for over a year! :)
  10. I have a question for everyone out there. I have just applied to nursing school and if accepted, I will begin in Spring '10. However, I'm starting to hear awful stories about how recent graduates cannot find jobs right now. I thought nursing was a recession proof job and was shocked to hear about this. Can anyone in the field tell me what the situation is like out there right now. Am I going to have trouble finding a job when I graduate in 2011?
  11. Yay! Only 3 weeks left of waiting...for the interview letter anyway! Thanks so much for the info!
  12. Thanks so much! I've already been through this waiting game once before. I first started nursing school at Kennesaw in 2003 and completed my first semester. I had to drop out because of some family things and now I actually have time and support to go back and finish. Because it's been so long, I have to retake all of the nursing courses (but thankfully not the prereqs). So I'm waiting to hear AGAIN! I remember the first time was killer...and I think I only had to wait a month that time. Good luck to you!
  13. Oh no, that is a long time to wait! I had sent Fran an email and hadn't heard back. They probably have the whole summer off :)
  14. Ok, since I'm not getting anyone whose applied for spring '10, is there anyone whose previously applied to Kennesaw who might now how long it takes to hear anything? It's only been a month and a half but that feels like forever when you're anxious!
  15. Thanks! And good luck to you! Have you taken the TEAS yet?
  16. Wondering if anyone out there has applied for KSU's BSN program to start spring '10. I applied and am still anxiously waiting to see if I get an interview. Let me know if you've heard anything!
  17. Hello! I am a new mom looking to return to school for my 2nd bachelors in nursing at Kennesaw State University. Since I have a new little one and my husband is also in school, I'm worried about having enough time. Can anyone provide details about Kennesaw's nursing program? How many class hours and clinical hours per week each semester mainly. And are there lots of projects and papers? Also, is anyone familiar with the accelerated program that can provide details on that as well? Do you have to work additional clinical hours in the accelerated program or is the only difference one additional class each semester? Anything you can provide is greatly appreciated! I really want to do this, but my husband is worried about us being in school at the same time.
