  1. Hi everyone, I have a question that i really need an answer to. I am in one of the online RN-BSN programs and wanted to know when I finish would I have to contact the BON to get certified for the BSN? Is it the same process when getting licensed. By the way I'm in California. Thanks a lot and happy holidays!:)
  2. Thanks my.toys for your response, you were really helpful. Do you think that they might look out for universities/colleges attended other than nursing school? In my view, it doesn't make any sense but I just want to make sure because all they would want to knoew is that i have completed my nursing degree? Thank you once again!
  3. Hi how is everyone doing? I am just curious to why the state board requires a SSN? I have borrowed some private loans as a student, do you think that they will be able to view them? Will they be able to tell about my residence for the past years? What is the whole purpose? Thanx for all of the help. I truly appreciate it!!
  4. She's an American citizen who went to India to study nursing (Bacheors of Science). Thanks! What is just the whole process itself alone.
  5. Thank you so much for the response. But do you know approximately how long this could take? Thank you.
  6. Hi I have a very important question. I have a cousin who completed her BSC Nursing in India and will be coming to the US soon, and she also will be taking the NXLEX in India offered by NCSBN. If she passes the boards and plans to work in California or any other state, will she have to retake the exam or not? What is the whole process? Thank you very much for all of the help!!! Thankxxxxxx.
  7. Hi everyone I will be doing a research on laxatives given to patients in the hospital and nursing homes. I know this question really depends on every individual, but how many laxatives are patients scheduled to take on a normal routine? Can 4 or 5 laxatives be scheduled in any case to be given at once? Thank you all for the help!
  8. Hi I know this may be silly question, but what is it called when you ask questions to patients for example: If the patient says that she isn't feeling good? You say, your not feeling good? I just cannot remember what it is called and also tried going back to my fundamentals book but can't seem to find it. Thanks for your help!!!
  9. I asked a similar question like this earlier, but I really need this answered and I would really appreciate it! So I have this friend in an accerlerated nursing program in trouble. She had to insert a foley catheter into a dummy for a simulation lab and she just wanted to make sure that everything in the kit was there for insertion. The kits are also used by several other students for practice so that's why she wanted to check. So she put her bare hands into the kit to make sure everything was there, and then she closed the kit back. She then disinfected her hands and opened the kit back again and then applied sterile gloves and then carried off the procedure. The instructor believes that she broke sterility, but then she was just checking at first and then afterwards she did everything correct. Thanks for all help guys!!!
  10. HI guys I need help. I had a simulation lab at my nursing school in Ohio where I had to insert a foley catheter into a dummy. So there was a kit with all of the equipments required for the insertion, however I dumped my hands with sterile gloves into kit while being careful about breaking sterility to make sure everything was there and nothing missing. Is this breaking sterilty by anyway, to check the kit, it wasn't with my bare hands or anything. This is may be a stupid question to ask, but please guys I need help. I would appreciate all of the help provided!
  11. You have to keep trying, who knows you might get in. But one thing is for sure you need to broaden your selections, because even with perfect GPA's not is everyone guaranteed to get in. But do not give up, keep trying and you will get there!
  12. Hi all, I am at clinicals right now. I am soo under stress right now that i forgot if I need to turn the IV machine off (pause it) when i get ready to inject the medication through the primary line? Also, for piggyback do you have to unclamp secondary line when hanging a piggyback, I know your supposed to turn off the machine though. Thank you and plzzzz reply I am in jeoparty!!!!!
  13. Thanks for the reponses. But do I need to check for edema all over the pt's body with my index finger? Still confused:confused:...Plzzz, I really need to pass this assessment.
  14. Thanks for the answers. But I was wondering how to check for edema, is there a specific way? How do you assess for edema all over the body. Do you just take a look without touching the area (skin)? Thanks.
  15. I don't think there is anything wrong with it as long as your neighbors give you consent. It's good practice, and that's what my clinical instructor had recommended me to do in one of my previous semesters. Also remember not to listen to other people as they can always put you down. Go for it!!!:)
