Concorde in Jacksonville?
hi there ishep79...concorde does have pre-reqs, it's just that once you're accepted into the program you're in...meaning you do not do pre-reqs and then apply to the RN program...the pre-reqs that i'm taking now are microbiology, algebra, dev.psy, a&p 1 and eng....later, we'll have chem, a&p 2, and speech..we start nur.1/clinicals in 2nd term...we go from 8-12:30 except on thurs. we go til 2:30...so far it seems as though the teachers try to help any way they can..it is alot of studying but you have to remember it's a fast-track program that only takes 15 mos. to get a 2yr. degree...hope this helps you

Concorde in Jacksonville?
good morning everyone...i just finished my first week at concorde..we have 30 in our class and so far everyone seems happy with their choice to attend...some are returning after taking their LPN course through concorde...the classes are very intense as far as we do 1-3 chapters each day...each day being a different subject...next week everyday will begin by turning in homework, a little review, take a test and begin the next 1-3 chapters...i do believe as more people hear about the program there will be a longer wait period to get in...we did have a few people this term who have to wait...so if you're interested start getting everything done...esp. the financial aid..i'll let everyone know how next week goes as far as the test...seems like the teachers will do everything they can to make sure we pass...wish me luck! have a great weekend!!

*the first term will be pretty much 8-12:30 except thurs. we have lab for 2hrs. *the second term gen. ed. will be 8-2 except thurs. and we're suppose to have 2 clinical days per wk. and they will start at 6:30am til ? *terms 3-6 will be mostly 8-5 except when you have clinicals which can be up to 5 days wk. in the last 2 terms. *each term is 10 wks. and we do one subject per day. as i find out more or if things change, i will keep everyone posted.

just wanted to give a "concorde" update..went to a meet and greet yesterday..was a little disappointed that they changed a few things such as the first term is suppose to be 8-12 it's now 8-12:30 and on thurs. 8-2:30 because it includes a lab they never mentioned...i know this isn't a big change but when you have a job it can be...other than that, i felt good about the program and i'm very excited...have orientation next thurs then start school on the 27th...can't wait!

Concorde in Jacksonville?
i just joined this site and was so excited to see this thread. i'm 47 and my kids are all grown so i now have the opportunity to go back to school. i'm now waiting on my acceptance letter from concorde...should be here any day. i'm starting their school on april 27 and should graduate aug.2010. i chose this school because of it's fast track program and i can start immediately. i'm hoping since they have such a good nclex pass rate for their lpns that the same will be true for the rns...i'm soooo nervous/excited at the same time!
