Yes, the Rutgers's Accelerated program is accredited and you can sit for it after your done with classes in August. We also have to take an exit exam. Not sure about all the details yet. Sunnyj

Hi sid 7, The person I found helpful to speak to over the phone is Ms. Denise Santangelo 732-932-1738 or email [email protected] , who is the administrative assistant for the undergrad program in New Brunswick but she is willing to answer your questions about accelerated program and you can even request that she unofficially look at copies (scan on computer) of your transcripts (through email) to see what you may still need to fullfill. Another person who does not pick up his phone but is good in returning email is Mr. Lou Rusignoulo [email protected] . He can send you info on testing out of challenge courses for lower division nursing classes. My recommendation to you is to get all your prerequisites done before attending school and challenge out Cultural Dimensions and Human Interactive Processes. You should have already taken Life Span and Nutrition. If possible try to have taken Pharmacology class (its a killer). There is little free time during the summer, just reading and studying. Make sure this is what you want to do. Sounds like you have a good back ground in Bio and Chemistry and this will be a big help. Good luck to you. sunnyj

hi MALZ, For Cultural Dimensions you only have to read the chapters and pages in the 2 required textbooks. Dr. Esteves said only read the textbooks not the journals and you should pass. Hi Purrisianz, The recording for Human Interactive Communications should be approached on a basic general health assessment. You only need to ask the person questions relating to how they keep healthy. Should be 20 min taped conversation and transcribe 10 min. Dr. Esteves said we can hand it in once we know we have passed the written portion of this challenge exam. All of this was stated during registration/orientation. The questions on the exam are all based on conversations between the client and the nurse. You should know theorists: Frued, Erik Erikson and Peplau. Good Luck! Sunnyj1

Hi Purrsianz, I just took the Challenge exam for Human Interactive Process. There are 100 multiple choice questions and the exam is based on reading the textbook. It was very doable. Just read the book and review a little and you should do fine. I have to take the Cultural Dimensions later this week. Back to studying. SunnyJ1

Hi Purrrsianz, You will have to contact Mr. Bruce Howard: [email protected] the administrative assitand/Office of student affairs to register for calsses ASAP. You also need to contact Mr. Howard to get a rutgers email account (ID and password). To sign up for the challenge exams you need to conact Lou at: [email protected] . You will want to take the exams before you start the program. Lou will send you the syllabus which has the name of the book you need to read and the chapters. You may need to take the day off to go to the Rutgers campus to square all this stuff off. It took me the day and I had to go back and get Dr. Esteves signatures for taking the challenge exams on another day. On May 26 the uniform people will come in to do fittings and orders. You should have already started on getting your insurance, criminal check and immunizations started. You should go to http://nursing.rutgers.edu and click on incoming student. This should list all the requirements you need before you start the program in May. Don't stress. As long as you contact the people above they should get you on your way to getting ready for May.
