  1. I've suffered from migraines since I was 13, I'm not 57. I've been on all kinds of different meds. Nothing worked until Imitrex came out. Before that, I frequently had to go to the ER for an injection. My migraines were horrible. I was totally incapacitated from them. Many times, the ER staff would give me those "looks" or even make snide comments. I've reported staff who have treated me in that fashion. I even had a doctor who checked my arms to see if I was a "user".................I almost sued him...............
  2. When I worked in the hosptial in South Bend, Indiana, LPN's did everything the RN's do. Hang blood, IV's, heparin locks, PiCC lines, but we couldn't acutally start an IV line.
  3. I am a psych nurse. While I cannot make a diagnosis, this does not sound like bipolar disorder to me. I agree with another post with regard to a seperation anxiety disorder, or something like that. Are you as a family getting counselling as well? Is the child involved in any kind of behavioral modification program? How are you all doing? bail
  4. Was this child diagnosed by a psychatirc pediatrician? I am a psch nurse, and I can't make a diagnosis, but this does not sound like bipolar to me. I agree with another post, with regard to a sepeartion anxiety disorder of some type. How is the child doing? How are the parents holding up? Are you getting counselling?

Alert: to every nurse out there................I tested NEGATIVE on my urine drug screen...............I was terminated from my job yesterday..................they never said exactly why, but drugs are missing............I work that unit, along with several RNs......I'm an LPN.............I've witnessed an RN altering the sheets, reported it.........she is still there.........................no one reported seeing me steal anything, or reported me being impaired................."at will" at it's best...................
