  1. Let me rephrase..... The administrator is an retired RN and keeps license current I understand we LVN CANNOT be on our own....
  2. Any school nurses that are LVN s? Is there an RN above you that you report to? Are you both in the same building and what reports or in what situations do you contact your RN? I'M CURRENTLY in a School With 200 Kids AND THere Is No RN ABOVE me but little pay....there's a job opening at my child's school with a RN above the LVN and wanted to know what's like.

    How many of you school nurses are you required to go on field trips with the students? What do you pack when you go? Do you just go with kids who take medication?
  4. How does your district pay you? Are you paid just School days that you work or are you paid monthly including summers? And if paid summers does your pay go down to part time?

  10. Hi everyone!!!! :-) :-) :-) :-) I'm a new nurse got my license in February and landed a job as a school nurse. I love it!!! Of course it has its ups and downs but enjoying it. I was thrown into the job with no training or where anything was so of course the first week was a little tough. I still have a lot of questions and concerns but most specifically on IMMUNIZATIONS in Texas. I do not have any idea what specific ones a child needs to enter PREK.....HELP!!!! Where can i look or who can i contact or is there any classes or training on IMMUNIZATIONS?????
  11. i applied for the nursing program and i am looking for scholarships to pay for school, i know it is not cheap and with the financial troubles i am having i am afraid i am going to drop out, van anyone help me out, where can i find scholarships??? I don't want to get any kinds of loans(i know i can pay them later on but don't want any debts) are there any other ways to pay for nursing school?

  14. i just found out i did not do medical terminology course, do i have to have it before turning in the application, or can i do it this fall 2009 while they take my application for January 2010.
