Hey Everyone, I guess that this will also be my last posting. I was denied admission into the nursing program at the College of New Rochelle. I will start my masters in education program in the Fall. It was nice being able to talk to everyone on here. I wish everyone the best in their future endeavors. Good Luck..

Hey BB, I'm sorry to hear about CNR. I also got accepted to a Masters of Early Childhood Eduation Program, but at Hunter College. My response to them depends of CNR. I do love the field of nursing because I worked as an aide during my undergrad. However, even though I just graduated from getting my undergrad degree, I do see the next door that opens for me as what I am destined to do. I do not think that age should affect any schools decision on who they accept. Even though I am only 21, that does not mean that because I am younger than some applicants that I will be more successful..I should tell you that pursing a MsEd is also a honorable degree. If nursing is your passion, I do think that you should one day continue to pursue it. I moved from my college town back home, and got my mail forwarded, therefore, I probably won't know the decision until later in the week. I do plan to call CNR on Monday to see if they can give me the decision over the phone. I hope you have not made the decision dampen your day because another door has opened for you. I will keep everyone posted when I get my letter. Till then, I wish everyone the best on their future endeavors.

Your welcome..The letters for the individualized track went out yesterday...If anything call them on Monday. I also applied to the accelerated track. The letters for that went out on May 6th, but my application got forwarded to the individualized track..Call CNR on Monday...Till then, research those other schools.

Did you apply to the accelerated or individualized track???Schools such as Suny Downstate, Binghamton, Stonybrook, etc are accepting for the accelerated track for next year. Try community colleges for associates for the fall..

Kwanee, I'm sorry to hear that. Did you get the admissions decision today?? Try Westchester Comm. College and LIU, I think that they book accept on a rolling basis.

I called today..Carmen said that the letters were sent out today...So responses will be received by Tuesday..I will probably get mine later in the week because I moved and my mail has to be forwarded..

Hey GT, Do you also start in the Fall?? Oh yea..my last school also had a lot of trees:scrying:..its beautiful @ times, but is frustrating in the spring because of allergies and summer because of bugs..

BB, I don't think that they decide based on whether or not you attended a technical college. Its a excellent thing that you ACED all of your classes, if anything that will work in favor of you. I really don't think that they discriminate though. I know people that did their prerequisites at universities where they had to fulfill extra activities for science classes that individuals that took their prerequisites at comm. colleges did not have to do, and it reflected in their final grades..but everything is up to the admissions committee..keep your fingers crossed..

MzA, I'm originally from NYC, but I went to school upstate NY. Just by visiting schools after finishing my undergrad this month, I have realized that most of the schools in the city and even New Rochelle are not as organized or updated. I can see where being provided with resources to being frustrated about resources could be a transition that will take a while to get use to.. Good Luck..you are almost there..

Hey GT, You are right...The fact that the individuals that are applying already possess a degree will work in their favor. In undergrad you make mistakes and you learn how to correct them in order to succeed. Nursing is not easy, I don't expect anything as rewarding to be cupcake. I wish everyone the best...I feel like right now is a very critical period for most of us that are waiting...

Hey BlackBeauty, I am still waiting. I sent my application last August before I started my senior year of college for the accelerated program. When I did not receive a response for the May 6 decision letters, I called and found out that my application was forwarded to the individualized track. I don't know if that increased my chances or not. I don't know what the admissions board is looking for but I'm very optimistic. I really want to attend CNR regardless of the setbacks that I've heard on here about it. I have two years of clinical experience during my undergrad, and fresh out of undergrad I am excited to dive into nursing because I truly love the field. I hope that we all get in to achieve our dreams. Lets hope that we here from them by next week...Good Luck..

Hey Guys, I originally applied to the accelerated track last August 2008 for this Fall, but my application was moved to the individualized track since I just completed my four year degree and my last transcript will not be sent out til the May 21. I'm excited about this and very optimistic that the outcome will be favorable..Hopefully we will all be accepted...And we could do a study group, I live in the Bronx but I will be commuting... Fingers Crossed for all of us individualized track prospects...

I don't have any information about books..I'm still trying to findo ut about the email..

Wow..everyone in the city got their letters..Congrats guys..I'm upstate, I just finished my last semester of undergrad...So hopefully I get mine on Monday....
