Thank You everyone for all the kind support. What I do now know, is that I will meet some very wonderful people in this profession. As far as the back pain, I or you all do not have time for what I have tried. Been down the road of MRI's,pt, acupuncture, myofacial pain release, rolfing, trigger point injections, Egosucue Method, Anthony Gary method, Feldenkries, Alexander Technique, Bowen Technique, chiro, function first, yoga, pilates....to name only a few. I am now trying something through a chiropractor called the drx90000. So far no results. But, I will let you know if it helps in case I can help some one else. I am just going to go for the nursing no matter what, I will find my way.. Happy Holidays and thanks again for guiding me!

Hi, I really need some constructive advice. Have been following some of these threads and really do appreciate how genuine everyone is on here. I am a 52 year old woman. I have been going to school to get a BSN. I have 4 classes to go until I can apply for nursing school. I have 2 herniated discs and chronic pain. I have been taking care of my parents for years in every capacity. I want a secure job I can do until I can't work anymore. My thinking is to just get through nursing school and I will make my way. I can not lift. I can not sit or stand long. I seem to have to rotate. So a complete sitting job will not work either. I thought even if I worked 25 hours a week, this would be more than I would make doing some other menial job. I am very scared and not knowing which direction to take. Any comments I would appreciate.

Thank You all for the encouragement and reply. I decided today that I have one more year of undergrad work and in that time, I am going to train for this like I would a marathon. I am doing it!

Okay, I am 51 years old and have decided to go back to school to be an R.N. I just finished my second semester of prerequisites, college algebra and Anatomy. Got an A in anatomy and a B in math. I am taking care of my Mother who has stage 4 emphysema. I bought a home this semester and also had a lawsuit I was dealing with. Well, I woke up this morning exhausted and not knowing if I could do anymore than this. I was planning to take an accelerated program. Knowing how demanding it is, I am now questioning if I could do this. I am healthy and young for 51. Granted, by the time I am ready for the program, I will not have a lawsuit and I will be moved. I guess I am concerned about the demands and the stress. Any opinions? Thanks.

Hi and thank you for the reply, motivation is not my problem. I am getting a 4.0 now in all my prerequisites. I am just wondering how much support you do get from OU and how autonomous you are? Would you go with them again? Really good luck and much success with the program.

Hi, I am living in San Diego and doing the undergrad prerequisites. I have been rethinking which school to attend. Initially was going to go to Oklahoma University. It is an on line program with clinicals. Not sure after taking anatomy if I can learn on line. May be better in a classroom setting. any thoughts on on line/class room? any one in this program? It is new to San Diego. Thanks!
