  1. Sholmsen: You're not alone in feeling that online patho and pharm classes leave you feeling unprepared. I am in the last week of my online patho class and I wish I would have had it in the classroom. Online classes don't allow you to actively engage with the material and fellow classmates. I took these classes for SMU but have since been accepted elsewhere that require them and am GLAD i'll be taking them over. Given the fact that SMU program is an accelerated one, I don't think I would have felt comfortable relying on the these classes as my only source of knowledge in these subjects. Good luck!
  2. Thanks Emalee. It sure feels good to know we'll be starting our nursing careers very soon. I can't wait for the orientation and classes to begin. Now we have to start taking care of all the logistical odds & ends, like finding a place to live. The adventure begins!
  3. Hey all! Congratulations to all who have been admitted. I just got a phone call from my best friend and ex-roomie saying I got my acceptance letter for the Fall 2009 cohort in Women's Health. I'm extatic and still in shock.
  4. Not that it matters...but I finally got the official letter letting me know I didn't make it into the program I'm not from the Fresno area. I'm in the SF Bay area and have applied to a few other programs. Still waiting to hear back from SF State and Samuel Merritt. In the meantime I going to take some additional classes and work as CNA.
  5. Scuba: Thanks for your words of encouragement. I am definitely being humbled by this whole experience and will continue to work towards my ultimate goal. I know we all have a lot of heart and will be just fine. I hope you find out something soon. Best of luck to you and the rest still waiting
  6. Finally, I'll be able to sleep! Unfortunately, I will not be joining the Fresno crowd . I called and left a message with Dr. Russler, he returned my call and left a voicemail letting me know that I was not admitted. Oh well, time to move on.
  7. Scubarat: THANK YOU for that vital piece of info. There is still hope for those of us waiting, woo hoo! Diana: CONGRATS on your acceptance.
  8. Nada! We still have tomorrow but i'm not holding my breath. I'm just going to relax now :tbsk:
  9. Yes, I have a feeling today is the day! Thanks Fiji for keeping us in the loop, you've helped lower my anxiety a lot :heartbeat. Good luck to us all!
  10. Let's stay positive everybody!
  11. FIJI: I checked and got nothing, no mail (snail or email). I'm going to wait until Friday to see if I get anything in the mail. If not, I will call them to check on my status. Just curious, did your acceptance letter say when orientation is? Anything about financial aid?
  12. Congrats Fiji:w00t: I'm glad to hear you have an official letter in your hands now. I'm still waiting. I'll be sure to check my mail as soon as I get home. I'm getting scared . Either way, I just want to know.
  13. No word yet. He said they were still reviewing the files (that was last week). I called the nursing office yesterday and they said they would be sending out notices this week. Let me know if you hear anything.
  14. No other news I totally agree with you about putting your life on hold pending these decisions. Let's try to stay positive;) Please keep us posted on what you hear.
  15. For all of you waiting on SF State Generic Masters.... I called the nursing dept. today and was told letters are not expected to go out until mid-late May!
