UIC--Cost of Attendance
Yay to us for getting into UIC:yeah: I just found out that I got in a few days ago and my concern in regards to expenses are much the same as yours. I was actually offered a spot in an accelerated program at a different school and now I have to make the biggest decision of my life in regards to which program I'm going to accept. Although the accelerated program is through a community college I would have my license in 15 months and it would be so much more affordable. Only 30 people were chosen out of over 500 so I know that I was very fortunate to be offered a seat. Unfortunately, I'm from out of state and my tuition is going to be absoultely insane at UIC. I know that it's an amazing school but I'm so afraid that I'm not going to be approved for loans for the extant that I will need. Chicago in itself is such an expensive city. Did you ever come up with any answers as to how you're going to keep up with the expenses? Any advice would be so much appreciated cause I only have till Wednesday to make a final decision. (If I choose to do the accelerated program it begins in less than 2 weeks... AHHHHH!!!) Thanks so much and congrats

Uic..... Help!
Hi Icechick... Thanks for the insight. I think I'm definitely leaning towards UIC because my accelerated program is through a community college that would only provide me with a RN license as opposed to a BSN. Since I ultimately plan to get my master's I feel that UIC would be the wisest choice. I'm just going to have to make it work. I have no idea how but I need to make it work. I'm crossing my fingers for you as well...

Uic..... Help!
I'm really struggling right now!!! I have to tell UIC wether I am gonna accept my seat by this coming Wednesday and my tuition for my accelerated nursing program is also due that day. As much as UIC is a dream come true I'm so worried that I'm not gonna be able to afford the expenses. My tuition is doubled ($14,000 for one semester) and I know the cost of living in Chicago is insane. I'm struggling over whether to do a 15 month accelerated nursing program at an affordable price or pay back student loans for the rest of my life at UIC.... Please Help!!!

Uic..... Help!
AHHHHHH .... there is hope everyone. I received a call back this morning and was told that a spot opened up for me. I'm still speechless. I'm supposed to start an accelerated program on May 11th at a different school and now I have to press the rewind button. I have to be honest, however, about my worries. Can anyone who is currently in the program give me some advice in regards to how they're financing their schooling there at UIC. I will be an out of state student and I'm really worried how I'm gonna afford tuition and the cost of living in Chicago... HELP!!! Good luck to everyone who is still waiting.... I am proof that there is still hope.

Uic..... Help!
I just received an e-mail back from Ms. Fern that says that only a very select few people were put on the waiting list but that she is unable to tell me my place on the list. I guess we just have to cross our fingers. Unfortunately, I don't have any more time to wait around. I have the opportunity to begin an accelerated program in 3 weeks and I feel like I have to jump on it. Good luck to those of you who are still hanging on anxiously in hopes of receiving that certified letter. I know that I would be beside myself if I received one after I've already begun another program. Why does pursuing our dreams have to be so darn tough???:rotfl::

Uic..... Help!
I unfortunetly received the same dissapointing e-mail in regards to being put on a waitlist. Does anybody happen to know if that was just the mass e-mail that went out to everybody who didn't gain entrance? Or did only a select few get waitlisted? I was accepted to an alternative accelerated program that begins next month but I'm still disappointed about not getting into my first choice school

oakland community college...letter of acceptance???
Hi everyone.... Just wondering if anybody else here is doing the accelerated program. May 11th is approaching way to fast... Does anybody know what the cut off was? Also, shots, shots, and more shots. Does anybody have any suggestions in regards to getting our immunizations and physical without going completely broke. (being without health insurance stinks) Congrats to everyone who got in and hopefully there is someone here that is going to hit the ground running with me in May.

Uic..... Help!
I accidentally found this site in an attempt to weigh out my chances for getting into UIC's nursing program. I, unfortunately, was denied for early admission. I do, however, have a 3.85 GPA and am still crossing my fingers for an acceptance letter in April. Do you happen to know anyone that was denied for early admission but was accepted for the final decision?
