  1. Hi There! Here is my take on your questions... 1) Did any of you attend the information session? No, I'm currently in SC and it didn't work with my schedule... Work, family and school. If I could have made it I would definately have attended. 2) What do you think is a good gpa to get accepted? My UG GPA was 3.462 and my degree is in a totally non-medical field. I'm in another Grad program now and have a 4.0 there. I'm inclined to agree with Jesse in that I think my Grad work helped me out. My UG science GPA was also pretty good though.... I got mostly A's. 3) why did you choose cnl and not bsn? I went for the CNL because I already have a BS and want to make the most of my time and my GI Bill. I did not want to get a second BS and then have to go on to get a Master's. This may be more intense but it is, in my opinion, the most direct route to get where I want to be. 4) what do you plan on doing with ur degree once you graduate? My husband is still active duty Air Force. I've considered working at a local hospital wherever we end up and then eventually returning back home, to Southern Maryland, after he retires and working in the same community hospital that I was born in. Since I got accepted to UMaryland I've had several friends tell me that I should go back to active duty as a nurse. I haven't ruled it out but will have to wait and see. I'm 36 now and could go back until I'm 42. I can't see myself as a 38 year old "butter bar" 2nd lt though! :) Follow up here after the term starts and we'll let you know what to expect... Best of luck to you in your selection of a program! Chris
  2. Hi Jesse, I did not want to bug you because I knew you would be crushed if you did not get in... Now I can bug you! Congratulations!!! I'm so happy for you and look forward to meeting you and Megan this Fall! Chris
  3. I'm looking forward to meeting you at orientation!
  4. Congratulations! I look forward to meeting you... What is your first name? Chris
  5. Thanks Jesse, I'll keep my fingers crossed for you! -Chris
  6. The UMaryland website updated my status today. I MADE IT! :clpty:
  7. Hi Jesse, Thanks for the link! I was able to get in and it looks like my application is now committee ready. I had a bunch of stuff, including my UMD info, stored on my school laptop. It was a few years old and bit the dust late last month... I've got the info saved on my thumb drive now. Thank again!
  8. I'm still knocking out the chemistry and nutrition courses but will done by late July. We're military and seems like every program I've looked at has slightly different requirements that I need to knock out... Have you heard anything about whether having them in progress could impact an applicants chances? (My science GPA is 4.0 so far and my BS cumulative was 3.462.) I can't seem to get back into SURFS to see my status... Can you add another post when your status changes? Good luck to you!
  9. Hi! I applied to the UMaryland CNL program for Fall 2009. Does anyone know when do the acceptance letters go out? I have a knot in my stomach every time I check my mail! Thanks! Chris
