  1. i worked there for almost 10 years, leaving to move north in 2001. I have 12 yrs experience with travel/agency/per diem and staff and can honestly say that it is probably overall one of the best hospitals I have seen for decent pt. ratios/up to date modern equipment and technology and physical infrastructure. I have not worked the floors for a while(cath lab-7 years) but when I did the support systems were in place to adequately handle the work load. As far as hospitals on the west coast of Fla. it is probably one of the best.
  2. I have lived and worked in the us for 12 years since I graduated in Winnipeg. I have enjoyed most aspects and think your opportunities down there are far superior. Currently live back in Windsor,Ont. and commute over to Detroit to work in cathlab. The hours are great w. no weekends or holidays and minimal call. I could not get a job like this in Windsor as they have one diagnostic cath lab and the nurse float to icu and do weekends on a rotation. I have obtained my us citizenship a couple of yrs back and am planning a move back to us (Charlotte,Nc.) in about 6 months. You should give the us a try. Overall it is a far superior health system.
  3. Am looking to relocate my family to N. Carolina(Charlotte). Does anyone know what an rn w.12 yrs experience would make. I currently make $28.00/hr in Detroit and want to know if Im wasting my time. The hospitals are always so uptight about givung you wages over the phone. Thanks Rob.
  4. Have also been looking at moving to N.C. from Windsor. We visited last week and liked Charlotte(also went through Raleigh and Asheville) . Houses are expensive in Raleigh relative to Charlotte. Downtown Charlotte also seemed a lot more vibrant. Traffic was horrible in both locations. Am trying to find out info on salaries.Rob
