  1. Wow...Looks like i would need lot of help from CNAs...by the way i will be night shift in ortho would that make a difference?
  2. Hi, I was wondering if you guys could please list some differences in terms of work level, stress level etc...I am contemplating moving from ICU to ORTHOPEDICS . Thanks
  3. Hi, What units would you guys say are really low in stress level. If you could please list in order of stress level i would really appreciate it.
  4. Guys what units would you say are low stress compared to ICU...in descending order because i might want to work on something low stress for a while.
  5. What really saddens me is that i have been in orientation for about 2 months now...instead of giving me 2 weeks i wished they gave me more time..i am so close to go to night shift orientation.I have been working really hard..i wish i had gotten some other preceptor
  6. Guys please help me out would you guys suggest i transfer to a different unit or resign?
  7. The union won't help you if it's a legitimate clinical concern, which is what is sounds like. Like i wrote before, the ICU isn't for everyone, and I think a poor starting point for most new grads. You need to learn how to hone your assessment skills first. so would you suggest i ask for transfer or just resign?
  8. Hi Guys, Thanks again for a lot of great suggestions, would you guys recommend asking for a transfer to another unit(i am currently in ICU) or resign and apply for jobs elsewhere? Also i am part of Union, i wonder how they could help me?
  9. First of all thank you so much for all of your replies.I was wondering how do you all feel between resigning or asking for transferring to another unit, since looks like i will most likely heed all of your advice and not get fired.
  10. I worked in medical Unit for one year..before i got a job in ICU..that is where i am orienting now.
  11. The Areas they wanted me to improve were: Critical Thinking Charting Shift Reports. Could you please give me specific suggestions to improve in the above areas.Thanks.
  12. Re: Fired or Resign? If you are new to the unit or floor, ask them to return to orientation. Perhaps a few weeks of orientation can make all the difference. ....Actually i am in Orientation Now, They were saying that maybe this Unit(ICU) is not for me.what should i do? will if affect my chances of getting a job elsewhere?
  13. Basically my unit has given me 2 weeks to improve or they will fire me,what would you guys suggest i do?...Is it better to resign now than to get fired?
