All you need to review for the test is a GED review book. Basic math PEMDAS and integers. Vocab and Reading Comprehension. Yes the ladies in the library are rude. Yes VEEB takes forever to send your test results. Yes they want their money when they want it. Yes it will be all worth it when you graduate and have your certificate in hand. Good Luck everyone.

LOL Thanks. Nope... wasn't me. I haven't been back up to VEEB as yet. I'm looking for a job and trying to decide which route for my RN will be the best for me.

Thanks! I used Saunders....Some of my classmates feel that there were the same questions on NCLEX as there are in Saunders and that it helped them...... I felt lost while taking it but I passed with 85 questions. Go figure. They make a Tips for Test Taking book that helped me more than the actual review book.

We took our last final today..... I can't believe 11 months went by SO fast. It was hard work and there were a lot of sleepless nights spent studying but it's all worth it. It seemed like yesterday a few of us were in this very thread nervous about our first day at VEEB and now were are graduating!! Congrats to my fellow classmates of 2010. Class of 2011..... study hard..... what you put into VEEB you will get back!

They will let you know exactly how much you owe once they get the info back from financial aid. You will most likely have until the end of September to pay if you have a balance. The reading is a lot but they go over everything in class. Don't stress yourself.... not this early in the game anyway.... lol.

I tried to warn them already!

It's a math and science assessment. They want to see at what level the class as a whole is coming in with. It does NOT count as a grade and will NOT hurt you in anyway if you don't do great. It's just for VEEB's information for teaching purposes.

Congrats to everyone who has received their acceptance letters. If you haven't been accepted to VEEB please don't let that discourage you, try for another program..... don't give up.

You guys are awfully concerned about the drug test LOL. Everything is sent out to a lab. My suggestion if you are doing anything, to stop. You wouldn't want the reason you don't get into school to be a failed drug test. There are 2 pregnant girls in the program now and 2 that gave birth since the program started. Being pregnant is not an issue.

Orientation and the physical are 2 different days. One is in June and one in July from what I remember. The Physical is on a Saturday. They do drug testing, draw blood, etc. You have to get the physical at the school there is no way around that. You can get your other tests PPD, MMR Hep B. etc through your own MD. last Year the physical was $185 that includes everything but your shots.

If you have submitted your references you are basically in the program. The people in the bridge program do not have priority over those who have already submitted references but they may have priority over those who have not received info that they passed. (confusing I know)

The books I have are the Nursing 2010 Drug handbook by Lippincott (I paid $20 on Amazon), Memmlers The Human Body in health and disease (hand-me-down older edition from a former VEEB Student) and a Nursing Fundamentals Text book... can't remember the author ($25 on Amazon). I doubt they will change the books since they did that this year. They may change editions but again the older ones have the same info! Honestly I got these because they were the ones I could afford they are not really must haves. The drug book I would say is the one I benefited the most between class and clinical.

No problem. If you put the time in you will do fine in VEEB. They basically spoonfeed you. Honestly of the 13 or so "required" books.... I own 3, One of which is an older edition than the one the school currently uses. Trust me it has all the same info...... LOL It has not affected my grades thus far my average is in the 90's. All the info for the tests come directly from the modules the teachers give us. They also have a library where you can take books out from Mon- Thurs for 50 cents. Don't let them scare you into paying $600 for books at orientation. If you feel you need the books use the ISBN # and buy them used online like at Amazon or something like that.

What Praise2u said is correct... when you go for Orientation in June or July (I can't remember when it is) They will give you modules with information pertinent to the 1st tests. I understand you're eager to "get ahead" but if you do the pre-school packets you will be fine.
