  1. Thanks
  2. Wow, I did not know that. We get to choose what facility to go to. That is not fair that they make you go so far. With so many facilities around they should allow you to go to a clinic close to home. What kind of uniform did you order and where did you order it from?
  3. FutureNovaRN I am a military dependent and I go to Bethesda Navy Medical center near Walter Reed. I live in Fairfax and it only takes me 25 minutes to get there. You can have them put in the TB order at the Health Care clinic of Fairfax. You don't have to go all the way to Walter Reed for Labs. Even prescriptions, you can have them put in for Fairfax, if that is closer for you.
  4. I am also going to the 9-12 orientation. You already ordered your scrubs? Do you know what color they decided on? I could be wrong but someone told me that the students get to vote on what color.
  5. Ms.**** is a very nice and knowledgeable person. She was the one who corrected all the wrong information that was given to me by the counselors downstairs. She has been a saint.
  6. Congratulations :clpty: Sorry you had to wait longer than some of us, but you got in that's what counts. Good Luck!
  7. Thank you guys. I am so excited, but I am starting to worry. It will be so hard, can I do it?
  8. I made a few friends in 161 and 162 over the last year. Some of them were in both NAS classes with me. I am sure you will make friends once you get settled in. You said that you just moved here. I have been here for 5 years and have maybe a handful of people who I consider my true friends. Please let me know when you get your letter. I am sure it will come soon.:nuke:
  9. I am not sure how long it would take, maybe about 5 days or so? I had 3 other friends who received their letters today too. I am sorry you have to wait so much longer. Good luck!
  10. Hurray, I got the letter from Nova today and I got into the nursing program, I am so excited, I can't wait to get started. I hope that all of you who applied for the fall of 09 received your letters today too. For those who did, I wish you all the best!
  11. future nova rn, I am taking Hlt 141 with Munch, I took the test 2 weeks ago and it was so easy. Do not worry about it, you will do fine.
  12. Thank you flames9.
  13. Hi, I am taking hlt 141 and I want to go and take my first tests this week. I was wondering, are the tests multiple choice or are they fill in the blanks? I know that the test is computerized, but how are they set up? Thank you,
  14. Hello everybody, Thank you for replying to my posts, I apologize for those who wrote me that I have not written faster. I am still trying to figure out how to send individual messages to people who replied to my posts. Maybesome day I will figure it out. FutureRN, what campus are you going to and when do you apply to the program? I am applying next week after the 6th of May whenever my grade for NAS 162 posts. I am going to the Annandale Campus for now and hope to get in this Fall. I have been trying to sort some things out with the counselors at the Medical campus, but I am sure you know, every counselor gives you a different answer.
  15. I will be praying for you, just study a lot of science and you should do fine. Make sure you don't waste too much time on the Math part, I was running out of time and probably made some careless mistakes. I was born and raised in Germany, but I am Greek. I learned some English in Highschool, but just school English like they say over there. It took me 3 years after Highschool to learn English to the point where I knew what I was talking about :). I will be thinking of you next Thursday! Let me know how you did! Good Luck!
  16. I took the test twice and flunked it both times. You pay 30 Dollars to take it twice; the 2nd time it is the same test. You get 100 questions;it was nice because it gives you a pretty good idea on how the test is set up.
  17. I found the test very hard and I was shocked that I passed. As I was taking it I kept thinking that I bombed it. But I have been out of school for 20 years, so maybe you won't find it as hard. Our school looks at your individual score, and then calculate the overall score. I believe I had a 93 % in Reading, 88% in math, 80% in Science, and a 83% in English, overall 86%.
  18. Hi Mytaty I took the Teas yesterday and passed it, juhuu, I never thought I had a chance since English is my third language. I was getting many questions wrong when taking sample tests, so please do not get discouraged! Just try to relax while taking the test and do the best you can. :wink2:
  19. I meet with the tutor twice a week for about an hour each time. I do not think it's that helpful. I need to find out more about the group sessions, maybe they are more informative. Has your friend taken it already? Thank you :)
  20. Hi I just took the teas practice test that you can buy on the ATI website. Boy, I did horrible on it, scored a total of 67%. Reading was my best score 81.8%, Math, which I thought I knew well, 66.7%, Science, 50%, English 66.7%. They broke all subjects down again to show all the individual scores, I got a 66.7 in Scientific Reasoning, 0% in General Science,100% in Physical science, 33.3% in Life Science and 66.7% un Scientific reasoning. How on earth did I get a 0% in General Science? What do I need to study to get better in that area? I am going to NVCC in Annandale, VA and they will not even look at your application unless you have an individual score of at least 78% on each section. Has anyone taken both, the practice test and the real test, and if yes, was the study test harder than the real test? I am very scared, I am taking the test next week and I still have soooo much I need to learn. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks,
  21. You have very good scores. You should not have any problems getting in. Our school requires at least a 78 in each section. It seems like most people are not passing the science part of the teas. I am taking the test for the 1st time and I am scared to death. English is my third language and I have my doubts that I will pass the test. I am allowed to take it 3 times; 30 days apart. Should I worry about the English portion more than the Science? I just passed the math entrance exam and think I will do ok on that subject. I am trying to get into the 2yr RN program, but I am seriously considering doing the LPN route if I do not make it into the program. What kind of questions were on the test? I am so stressed; I am up all night thinking about the test. Please Help! Thank's!:wink2:
  22. It's nice to know that I'm not going through this alone! I am also taking 162 (the eight week option) to finish by the deadline for the accelerated program. Are you applying for the accelerated or traditional? I will probably take advantage of the "teas study group Hi again, I am taking the 16 week course at the Annandale Campus and hope to get into the Fall program for nursing. I do not know if I will pass the tease, I might have to go the LPN way and then try to get into the program. I ordered the book secrets of the teas exam and hope it will be more helpful then the tsi study guide. Good Luck!
  23. Hi I am so excited to have found this posting. I am also taking the tease at NVCC next month. I only have a few weeks to prepare and I know what you are going through. I talked to the people in the testing center and I do not think that it looks that good for us. I bought the study manual but it does not cover much on Science. If you would like to chat please post here. I am currently taking 162 and all I have left is the tease. I asked my teacher if she knew of anyone who has taken it recently and she was going to ask some other studens in her other classes. Hope we both make it. :)
