  1. Hi there. Kind of a brutal question... I'm looking into nursing, but not sure if it's for me. I've read about the good qualities to have, what about the not-so-good ones?
  2. What is the ratio of success in NS? Do a lot of people quit or flunk?
  3. Hi, I'm considering nursing school. A concern of mine is making a mistake dosing medication, overlooking a symptom, etc., that could possibly harm a patient. Everyone makes mistakes from time to time. How does NS prepare you for this?
  4. Thank you so much for the great advice!!! I have contacted a couple hospitals for volunteering information and signed up for an orientation to the nursing program at my junior college. It all seems very overwhelming right now but I think I should start my pre-req's and see how that goes... Can anyone give me an estimation of how much time they spend studying daily while in the actual program? Are the instructors as aggressive as they sound and try to weed you out? Is the stress of making mistakes and hurting somebody difficult to deal with?
  5. Hi!! I'm 28 years old and thinking about taking my pre-reqs for nursing school. It's been 8 years since I graduated with my Associates of Arts. I couldn't decide on a major so I took a break, but never figured out what I wanted to study. Recently, I have discovered that I have a lot of interest in healthcare, which I never considered before. Because it has been so long since I've been a student I'm worried that I won't have the academic stamina that nursing school requires. I've been reading postings on this site for a month now, trying to gather information on just how difficult it is. Guess I'm looking for a pep talk... Can anyone help out with some advice? I'm also looking into sonography or medical imaging....
