  1. Long story short, I tried out in all areas of hospitals, ER, ICU, OR... even got into CRNA program. All are harsh like hell. I dropped out from CRNA program on my purpose and exit as a good term because reading 100 slides powerpoint and testing every other day are way too stressful and I am not learning anything. Finally, make my decision to take another path as acupuncturist (3 years full time school, need to pass 4 boards, no kidding J) Now I am independent and see patients independently. Patient knows me as RN gaining trust because I can translate the western side into acupuncture terms. I know it is very hard to make a change but needs lots of determination. For those who want to get some passive income to fund school, may consider to buy make investment on CD in terms of bitcoin terms. 1% daily compound interest but can't take money in 6 months. Invest as little as only $65 to play. Absolutely not scam. No matter if it is investing or career change, just a piece of advice that we need to keep our mind open, Sky's the limit.
  2. I totally left Nursing with no shame and now doing Acupuncture. Be my own boss. My loan is big but I have good investment CD in terms of bitcoin (no packages) earning compound interest 1% daily, Get on the boat before it becomes main stream crytocurrency next year.
  3. I already am in the class now. They will give you a chemistry test and something about critical care quiz + interview. Very informal. Take it easy.
  4. Hi, I have BS in computer science (1991, GPA only 2.75). But my ADN has GPA 4.0 Did you have interview yet from Barry? THANKS:D
  5. Hey, Good to know you are prepared in Miami! Last minute advice? Simple, go to bed earlier and dress nicely. Tell yourself that you CAN DO it!!!! Let me know the outcome. OK! I am looking forward to hearing your GOOD news!! - Nancy
  6. Amanda, It looks like they still have spots available in Orlando, Tampa, and Miami. Do you have any preference? I chose Orlando because it will be much closer to church. (I am living somewhere between Tampa and Orlando). Where are you coming from? I received an email from them on the 2nd day that I am admitted to the program. I am hoping that I will see you in the class too. Just relax, you will be OK. Please plan plenty of time to drive to the campus because there were 2 nurses showing up one hour late because of the construction on I-95. I seldom check allnurses forum and sometimes the notification of thread will go to the Junk Mail. Let me know the interview's outcome. Good luck, keep in touch - Nancy
  7. Hi, here is the info. I want to share with you about today's interview in Barry. Basically, nothing worth stressful. Directors are very friendly. Questions are generic, like "why you want to be CRNAs?" Test is very easy. Because I have taken organic chem I and II, I have no problems with that. One of the questions is about the organic nomenclature. How to name a organic compound something like that. Just relax, be yourself, and you will be absolutely OK. - nancy
  8. Great to hear this good news!!! As you notice in the previous thread, I will be going to interview in July 13. I try to beat my nervousness by reviewing my CCRN Q/A, review my organic chem. etc. But definitely I will post my experiences here (or if you wish, I can email you) after that day. Congrat again for the upcoming interview.
  9. Hi, I hope I can give you an idea... After almost a year communicating with the admission officer in Barry, I am told that they would evaluate the "whole picture" instead of solely GPA. They will look into Science GPA and Nursing (or other degree) GPA, critical care experiences, chemistry subject (one semester of organic chem or biochem. as their pre-requesite), CCRN (highly recommended), GRE 1000 cut-off line. To become more competitive, I suggest to get as much as you can. In my case, I have CCRN + CEN, 2 years of chemistry (total 18 credits unit, GPA 3.7), 6 years experience in ICU, BSN from Australia + US (GPA 3.6) - Hope this helps. Nancy
  10. Hi, how is going today? I got a call from Barry today that I will have an interview in July 13. So, we may be in the same class next year. :) Is the interview very stressful? THANKS
  11. Hi, I have also applied Barry class of 2010. Did they tell you to retake GRE before they turn in your file to admission committee? My gre is barely 1020 but I did not hear from them yet. Do you know what is their cut-off Gre score? And, I did not hear from Barry yet. Do you know how soon I will hear from them? THANKS, Nancy
  12. Thanks so much for your reply. Actually, I checked with them last Friday to see if they have received my all credentials/transcript. I mailed it out two weeks ago in USPS express mail... But they said that they never receive it or the package is stuck in the mail room etc. I said that I want to make sure it will be all set before May 1st (deadline). May I know what pros and cons studying in Barry? I did not apply other school except Barry. I very much appreciate your advice. :) Nancy
  13. Hi, I have applied Barry U. for the CRNA class in Spring, 2010. I don't know how soon I may hear from them ? because I may need to leave out of States for family reason. Can somebody give me an idea on what time window I will be notified to have interview? someone says it is around Sept. but it sounds too late. Will they contact me via email or snail-mail? Thanks!!!
  14. Thanks for your advice. Actually, Barry requires one semester of chemistry (they said that Organic chem or Biochem is prefered) to overcome the rigors of school. And I also feel that knowing much of organic chem. will give me a edge on all biophysiomechanisms at cellular level, so that I won't struggle too much in the class. You are right. I only used one book (Barron's) for my GRE and it definitely is not enough. If they turn down my application, I may need to retake one more time though. Will see... Thanks anyway. - Nancy
  15. Hi, I am new to the forum. I have been wishing to apply to CRNA school in Barry U. in Miami (Class of 2010). Little bit info. of myself. I graduated from Australia in 1992 with BSN. However, due to the education system incompatibility, 24 credits units were missing after transcript evaluation. Instead of earning back those missed 24 credits units, I am required to "RE-DO" the BSN all over again. :angryfire Yes, all over again.... Hence, I have been very determinated to just have earned 70 credits units within past 18 months. In April, I will be conferred to BSN (US-affiliated! finally:redpinkhe) in Excelsior College. In addition, I am taking Organic chem II right now in community college. I am intending to do online medical biochemistry in May. The deadline of applying CRNA class in Barry U. for 2010 is May 1st. Technically, I already fulfilled the requirement of admission. (I even run extra miles than what they are asking for). They require one semester of chemistry, but I even am taking my 4th semester of chemistry. I have my CCRN for 10 years and CEN for 2 years. Science GPA 3.8 BSN GPA 3.6 Today, I took my GRE and the combined result is approx. 1000. not so good Yes, I can re-take my GRE before May again to boost my score, but I don't think I have my "brain bandwidth" right now since organic chem. already take A LOT OF my brain power. I already worn out after "70-credits-in-18-months" boot camp. I want to invest my time on organic chem. II this time. There are only 2 more months left before deadline of May 1st. I don't think I can boost my scores within this very short period of time. Honestly, I rather use my time to study something more useful (eg. biochemistry) instead of GRE. Any ideas? - thanks, Nancy
