Is a Masters Worth it? Help!
So I am a registered nurse with my BSN for 5+ years. My main exp has been in the Emergency room. I recently took a job with a medical device company as a Clinical Specialist and have been debating continuing my education. I know for a fact I do not want to be an NP and I feel that a masters in Nursing education will not get me very far unless I continue on for my DNP which I'm not interested in either. I see that Walden University has a degree for a Masters in Clinical Research Administration, that I was looking into. What are your guys' thoughts on obtaining a Masters in this? Is it worth the $30,000 of debt I will be in when I graduate? I know I most likely not be making any more money then I currently do, but research does interest me and there is room in the medical device industry to work as a researcher. Does research offer a decent work/life balance? Is the pay at least decent? I've heard you will take a huge paycut and work 60+ hours/week... but then I've seen threads that say pay is comparable and its typically M-F 9-5. Thoughts?

Need some advice on expected salary
I graduated in 2008 and the best new grad salary I found in the Tampa Bay area was $22.70 hr. So i opted for night shift bc it was an extra $4.08 from 7-11 and and extra $5.32 from 11-7. So it ruffly added out to be about $27.50/hr. I never looked into manatee memorial though, i mainly researched hospitals in hillsborough, pasco, ad polk before i made a decision.

New to LTC and charge?
I am an RN BSN with 1 1/2 experience on a cardiac floor, step down from the sicu. I recently was offered a job in an LTC rehab unit as the charge nurse on nights. I was wondering what are your guys' thoughts on this. With no LTC experience would I be able to handle a charge position. What things should I expect on the job? Thanks :)

How is it with the jobs in Tampa bay?
I graduated in december and applied to Moffitt, the VA, Lakeland regional and MPM and was offered a job by three of them as a GN. They are all interested in hiring new nurses as far as I could tell

VA Medical Center in Gainesville
I worked at the VA while in school as a student nurse tech. I really enjoyed it. It was a great institution and I really learned alot. I worked at the one in tampa which is a teaching hospital. I was offered a job in their GN program but at the last minute I took a job somewhere else. Not because it was abad place to work but just bc i wanted some new experiences. The GN program in Tampa was a year long. For the first 12 weeks you rotated on the diff floors and then you picked ure top three choices and they tried to place you on one. Then for the remiander of the year long rotation you worked on that floor. I am not sure if you were with a preceptor that whole time or if they just offered you support, I never really got an answer to that question. They offered a bunch of diff rounds as well with wound care and resp, things like that so you could get a feel for everything.

Is no delegation questions a bad sign? I was expecting to have a few since Kaplan emphasized it but I had none!! 75 questions and then the computer shut off, i am so nervous I don't even know what to do with myself.
