  2. Nope not yet. But the UAB graduate school sent me a Christmas card vis email, so thats gotta mean something, lol.
  3. Right here at UAB
  4. ACNP - FA here too! Congrats!!!
  5. No letter yet. Prolly wont be till next week.
  6. Anyone get a letter in the mail yet?
  7. My only other piece of advice is that running questions is the best way to study, but DONT OVER THINK IT!!! If you are doing fine in class and regular exams, you are letting HESI psyc you out. Don't over think it, just really get in the mindset that its no different from another exam, and go with your instincts.
  8. Well, my advisor has been changed in Blazernet to an instructor in the ACNP program :) Looking good
  9. 5 years Level 1 Trauma/ 1 year flight nurse....here is my take You did the right thing. When in doubt, be over prepared. Especially when you are new. Would much rather call a code and not need it than to NOT do something for fear of being wrong, and trying to explain why you didn't act. No one will ever fault you for being OVER prepared. You handled that just right.
  10. Do you have to retake just the course, or do you have to repeat nursing school? If its just the course, then consider yourself lucky, its a small setback. Talk to your professors, figure out a game plan, and handle your business. You made it to third semester, you are meant to be here. Stay strong, keep finding ways to be motivated, and don't give up. The failures make the victory that much sweeter.
  11. I wouldn't take that to mean much, if you can't get in to blazernet. That might just mean they haven't activated your account yet. A lot of us have had blazer ID's for over a decade.
  12. Oh and my stats. 416 on MAT 3.1 on last 60 (Have 1 F haunting me from like ten years ago, still on my last 60) 5 years ER 4 of which Level 1 Trauma 1 year Critical Care Transport/ Flight Nurse
  13. I just don't remember ever seeing a clickable link that said future curriculum before. I've looked at my blazernet screen a thousand times, and I think its new.
  14. Hope so, but until I see it on the main Blazernet screen and have my letter, don't wanna get my hopes up. Been a very long road.
  15. Yes, I can log into blazernet, old student here.
  16. At the bottom left of my blazernet screen, I have a clickable option that says See Future Curriculum, in Green. when I click on it, says Summer 2017, MSN Nur, Acute Adult. My main blazernet screen still says nothing.....But I don't remember ever seeing this button before on blazernet....hrrrmmmm
  17. Congrats!!!! No changes for me yet, but im going for ACNP. Anyone from acute care get in yet?
  18. As of 1300 on Monday, no changes to Blazernet status, no email yet. Just called, secretary that answered the phone said letters will be mailed the week before Christmas. I am betting that emails and Blazernet changes will go out this week. About to email one of the MSN advisors I've been dealing with and ask as well. --Advisor said the same thing, Letters will be mailed out before Christmas
  19. Im SURE we will have our answers next week. Just tired of waiting, but it is what it is.
  20. I take this to mean that you worked Rotor Medevac in the military? If so, then you are on a GREAT track for a HEMS job. Just go work at the biggest ER in your area, that one that is attached to an academic medical center. Most likely either they have their own flight program, and if not a fair amount of the flight nurses in the area will probably work in that ED, and id hazard to guess the closest HEMS services medical director Med Control will be attached to that hospital, probably as either an ER attending, or trauma surgeon, or anesthesia. 3 years working in a level 1 trauma center combined with your Military/EMS experience would make you VERY competitive. Only other things id advise to do is to get CEN after you have like two years of ER RN experience. Get these credentials: ACLS/PALS/TNCC/NRP, and being an ACLS instructor looks great. Honestly getting HEMS jobs is more about who you know, so if you can work beside some of these guys and show them you know your stuff, when a job comes open after your three years of ER RN experience you will be good to go. Do a few third rider trips with the group that you plan to work with.
  21. 1 year in working for ground/fixed wing transport. Here is what I've learned for gear. a few cheap carabineers, they are great for holding your drips, and early on you will forget a few of them at the receiving facility when you leave. Most companies will carry them with them to give to the ER ICU nurses and staff, its a great marketing tool. Don't buy the tacticool SWAT/MILSPEC boots. Some people will rock Merrels, or even Nikes. Under Armour makes great boots, there are some great ones out there, but get ready to spend some money. Get a watch that's comfortable and easy to read, esp at night. Guys like to go out and buy the 300 dollar Navy Seal Luminoxx, but I use a 20 dollar PUMA watch off Amazon, with a digital display, and a good glow at night. You can never have enough PENS. Also, keep a role of SILK TAPE on you at all times, and when SHTF, just tear some off, tape it to you leg, and start writing. Also makes it easy to ghetto label drip bags. Phone charger. It will always go dead at the WRONG time. Buy an extra and put it in your flight suit. I keep an extra shirt, shorts, and socks in my cubby, along with soap and deodorant. Little bit of cash for the drink machine when you land after a flight in 100 degree heat. Decent pair of $20 sunglasses. Decent pair of earplugs if your working Rotor. I have a laminated sheet of critical care meds that I keep in my pocket for quick reference, along with a list of phone numbers.
  22. Nope, still says no holds, not in any group. fingers crossed.
  23. An advisor did tell me that the summer sem is a bit less competitive than the fall. Though I am applying for the ACNP - FA track, Since the ED certification is only open to FNP, which makes perfect sense of course.......
  24. Nothing yet, no news. I have a blazerid acct, nothinf new there either
  25. It looks like last year ppl had letters by mid late November.
