Should I quit my job before nursing school?
During nursing school I worked about 16-20 hours per week. Nursing school is very demanding and it was difficult to juggle both at the same time. I also know people who worked, had one or two kids AND went to nursing school. Although it was very demanding to work at the same time as go to school, I learned A LOT about time management and prioritizing. I worked as a waitress and work became a place that I enjoyed going because I didnt feel that I SHOULD be studying or I SHOULD be working on assignments while I was there. My income also allowed me to come out with a lot less debt that I otherwise would have. It really comes down to your personal preference. If you find that you are struggling doing both, I would identify this as early as possible before it effects your schooling.

CRNE feb 2009
I think the reason that the person may want to know the pass score for the exam is because it can help to gauge the difficulty of the exam that we wrote in comparison to past exams. Ie/ in the past the pass score has been 146; if the pass score for this exam was say 162 it may indicate that the exam we wrote was easier than past exams and the marks have been "bell curved" to reflect this

IV piggyback question
Thanks for the info. This has helped to clear things up for me :)

IV piggyback question
The patient had a saline lok that was only accessed to administer the IV antibiotics. So what I understand from your answer is that piggy back would not be necessary?

IV piggyback question
Hi, I just started working on a medical/nephrology unit. One of my patients had a NS lok and also had two IV antibiotics ordered during the course of the day. Looking at the pump I realized that the nurses had been running the cipro through a primary line instead of piggy backing it into NS. The charge nurse said that this was wrong and that it should only be hung as a piggy back. What do you guys think?

CRNE feb 2009
I am also waiting for my results in Ontario. Looking at past threads it seems that us lucky people from Ontario tend to get our results last...usually a week to ten days after those west of us. I would probably expect to see them early next week. To all those that know they passed.. CONGRATULATIONS!!! Enjoy the sense of accomplishment and relief. To those who weren't successful this time, dont give up hope...this experience will only make you a stronger person :)

CRNE feb 2009
I also wrote the exam earlier this month. I left the exam feeling unsure as to how I did. For a lot of the questions I could narrow it down to two answers and then had to make an educated guess. Now, as I wait for the result I am starting to work at a local hospital. My biggest fear is that I will get through orientation and then be notified that I failed and have to stop working. I also received a signing bonus from the employer and would have to pay it back if I dont pass and be out of a job. It is so scary having so much on the line. I dont know how I will get through these 6 weeks. ItS TORTURE!

Crne feb 2009 exam
Hi everyone, I just wrote the CRNE a few days ago and is wondering how everyone felt about the exam. Personally, I dont know what to think, and have no idea how I did. I don't feel like I bombed it but I dont feel like I aced it either. On a lot of the questions I was guessing between two options. I was wondering if anyone else felt this way...
