  1. Thanks, Scrubs09 You should study percents, addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, geometry, integers and some word problems. I actually like the way the proctors issued the exam...it was up to the student in which order we wanted to complete the test wether it be reading 1st or math 2nd....I did the math 1st followed by the reading.you find out right away if you get into the lpn prep class. The prep class starts in Jan 2011 and it meets 2xs a week for a total of 8hrs...The test proctor advised that we don't miss any class, which is from 4:30pm until 8:30pm......
  2. I pased my Tabe exam to get into the LPN Prep at GoldWater!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1 I can't wait until January 2011 :D
  3. @angie928 if I remember correctly..isn't there some geometry on the Tabe D?? I'm just asking because I remember seeing it a while back..I don't even see it in the Tabe D study guide...idk what's going on with that..how's is Goldwater so far?? what are the class hours?
  4. Hello....... I take my test on Oct 27th..I'm hoping I pass...I've been reading thru some old threads to see if I can find an answer to my question.....but I didn't find anything and I was wondering if all goes well and I pass the TABE will I go to Goldwater automatically to take the LPN Prep class?
  5. Hello....... I'm a former student of Mid Manhattan's CNA program and this will be my 2nd time taking the Tabe Test and believe me as many times as that school had us take the Tabe D exam I should know it by heart!!!!! But I don't! I purchased the Tabe D study guide from Walmart for $11...much cheaper than Amazon and Barnes and Nobles...It's the same material that's on the test.....and although there are a few typos in the book....it's helping jog my memory..I'm scheduled to take the exam on Oct 27...... Good Luck to all !!!!!!!!!!
  6. Thanks Akanini...did u do veeb, if so, how was it...............im done with Cnet...this was my 2nd time taking it and although my scores were much better than they were last year...I still did not pass! Ill look into veeb.. I also checked out Monroe College but they want a bit much but well see
  7. In actuality I would have passed if they were scoring it based on the ppl who took the test in the class...but instead they scoring it nationally.....Im done with the CNET...they making it harder and harder each year for ppl to get into the program..Im going elsewhere and do my LPN or go straight for the RN!
  8. I took the Cnet on the 21st of March and as far as what type of candidates they are looking for i have no idea...my break down of the scores dont add up... Reading.....i got 32 of 40 and that left me with 56% Numerical Ability...i got 35 of 50 and that left me with 35% Language....i got 48 of 60 correct and that left me with 40% I basically got 115 of 150 correct and that leaves me in the 43rd percentile... It doesnt make any sense to me..it seems as if i should have had a higher percentage...
  9. NURSEGUY1 you should have no problems getting into the LPN program if you passed your cnet, tabe and completed you package and did the interview..What i am surprised about is that they didnt give you a school to attend automatically(i.e. , BALC, Mid Manhattan or Coler Goldwater)..I grauduated from Mid Manhattan last year from their CNA program and I know a lot of ppl who was in the LPN Program there...normally you would go thru the process you went thru and then they would ask for half of the tuition which was $2300 last year....i dont know if it increased or not...maybe they are trying something new this year and getting everything done early and not waiting til the last minute(August) to do everything before school starts in September! Best of luck to all those taking the CNET and TABE!:)
  10. thanx NURSEGUY1 I guess its off to the library 2morrow...and now that you mention it a few of my teachers at mid manhattan had told me to study GED books for math especially when it comes to the tabe test...i wonder if they're right! Math is not my best subject.
  11. it's exactly the same........mid manhattan is an alright school..i went there for the cna course..
  12. i purchased the study guide also and hopefully will be getting my test date soon...i took the test last year and didnt do too good..but maybe the 2nd times a charm :) Good Luck to all taking the test
  13. wow ur doing the paper work already....??? i know last year they started doing the paper work very late last year...i took the cnet and failed in each section by 12 pts..i was more that a little upset because i regstered to take the test and then less than 3 weeks later i got a letter telling me to come in and take the test and was receiving advice from a lot of ppl stating that you need to study this and that and what i ended up doing was studing the tabe a book i received from a friend and it was no help at all..i do agree with a lot of whats being said that its all about timimg and speed especially when it comes to the math....the vocabulary was ok as far as spelling and things of that nature but when it came to the synonms and antonyms it was tough and thats where i messed up big time...any advice on how to get thru those because you have no idea as to what words are gonna be given to you......
  14. i ordered my cnet studyguide about 5 weeks ago and received them shortly after...i also have the tabe a math book...do u think i should study both books or one???
  15. i have a question......i'm currently a student at mid manhattan(doing the cna training) and i have a classmate who took the lpn prep class then cnet last year and failed but was allowed to take the tabe a exam....for all of you who passed i just wanted to know who notifies you of when to take the tabe a exam? do the school call you or is it in your letter stating that you passed the cnet? alson, my classmate stated that when the school receives your cnet scores whether pass or fail they score it differently than the cnet people meanin where as someone may have failed on a national level but would have passed depending on the group of people you took the exam with... can someone shed some light on this if you know anything about it...greatly appreciated jamaysmom:)
