I have been asking about nursing a few different ways on here and I'm learning more each time. I have a more detailed question now. I eventually want to be a physician assistant and because the programs are competitive, I want good medical experience before I apply for a program. I already have a BS pre-med so I am wondering if an accelerated BSN program for people who already have degrees or an ADN program would be better. Since I will eventually become a PA, I won't be in nursing for a very long time as long as things go as planned. So frankly, which program would be easier and quicker and does anyone have any suggestions for schools in Northern/Central California? Also, is there such a thing as an accelerated ADN program? Thanks, I appreciate your adivice.

I have recently become interested in nursing but I don't know how to go about getting started. I want to do a quick program to get experience quickly, but I don't know which I should do because I don't know what the different nurse titles mean. Is it quicker to become an RN than to get a BSN or is that the same thing? I already have a BS with pre-med emphasis that I completed in 2006 and I needed time to figure out if I really wanted to get into healthcare. I know I do now, so I need some help. Thanks.

Thanks for all your advice. core0, I am interested in any PA program I can get into in northern/central California. The top three that caught my eye were Samuel Merritt, UC Davis, and Stanford. I know Stanford requires HCE, but Davis and Sam. only recommend it. Do you have any advice on whether these two programs are good?

Hi, my name is Nick and I am a new member here. I don't know if this is the right place to post this question, sorry if it's not. I have a BS/pre-med emphasis and I am interested in becoming a physicians assistant. I want to gain experience in the medical field before I apply to a PA program and I am interested in nursing. The problem is I don't know much about the process of getting into a nursing school or a PA program. Which type of nursing degree should I get, how does it all work? I would greatly appreciate some advice.
