  1. Hi all, In recent months I have fianlly buckled down and accepted my calling to the nursing profession. I currently attend classes at CCBC-Catonsville. I am working on my pre-clinical requirements. This semester I am taking Statistics and in the Summer I will do Biology 110 and then A&P and then the Micro--so I have a little way to go. However, I actually live in HOCO! it was cheaper for me to go to school at CCBC then HCC. So with the Nursing programs, are they covered by finacial aid ? I really just like CCBC and was intent on their Nursing program. But now I have found out about the Acclerated Program at HCC! That sounds like a winner. So would HCC accept my prerequisites from CCBC? Also what is the difference betweeb an ADN and RN? My understanding is that CCBC has the RN program and HCC has the ADN? Is there a differnce? My goal is to go for the BSN after I complete the RN or ADN and then work toward a Masters--but like most I need to also work, raise a family so I will need to be earning money in the mean time! Lastly, what has been the salary for those just graduating from RN & ADN programs? Thanks! :heartbeat
  2. Hi, I was wondering if anyone on here has had the pleasure of completing an accelerated RN program? There is one about 35-40 minute drive from me at another community college. Does anyone know of the demands of that sort of curriculum? Apparently the duration of the program is approximately 13 months, whereas the program at the college I attend is 4 semesters. After I earn the RN, I plan to work on the BSN an have considered an accelerated program for that degree too. I just want to know the demands of such intense study...is it better to drag it out over a years or get it done quickly? I would like to hear personal experiences and how families coped! Another question is regrading salary--what is a typical starting salary for a newly qualified RN? I am eager to hear first hand from folks who have walked out of an RN program, straight to employment and what benefits were offered. Also, were the school loans forgiven? Many thanks, Michelle:heartbeat
  3. Hi I am new here...I was wondering if I would be able to get my two year RN at my local community college and then after I graduate from there, go directly to a CRNA program? I was reading here I would need 1 year after my RN in an ICU type environment...can someone clarify this? Also, how long would this take and what is the best and quickest route? Finally, I live near Baltimore, so where are the closet accredited CRNA programs? Are there any on-line? Thank you.:wink2:
