  1. Hi polka-dot, I cannot private message you, but I would love the link to your website. My email is 77ur33 at gmail dot com. If you do not mind. Thank you so, so much! I really appreciate it! 7ofus
  2. Hello Everyone, I am a first semester nursing student in California. We are doing a cultural presentation on Filipino culture in the US to help us better understand and serve the community as future nurses. What are the specific values and customs that we need to pay attention to? I know in Eastern European culture for instance, it is very much forbidden to let a terminally-ill patient know the state of his disease - because it is considered an "emotional protection" of the patient. Is there anything specific like this nurses need to respect and pay attention to that is related to Filipino Culture? Thank you very much!
  3. She (-----) said it is very unlikely we'd hear before the 28th, but they are trying to sort it all out and will send emails as soon as they can. It does seem the point cut off is very "iffy" and largely depends on who decides to enroll or declines... I have to be patient :) (but that does not stop me from checking the nursing web site every day)
  4. 243 applicants, point cut off is probably be staying the same as for the fall - 58. I went to Sac State orientation today and that is what we were told.
  5. Does anyone know what the point cut off for Spring might be? I have heard they did not have as many applicants as for the Fall, and the point cut off is significantly lower than usual (that's what a friend who attended the last nursing session told me).
  6. That's where I checked - but all it says under "Admissions" link is: "Not Determined at This Time" but it does say I don't have to take Math or English tests... I'll just wait or email the admissions... Thank you for replying though.
  7. Have you heard from Sac State about the admission to the university? Nursing website says we have until October 25th to either accept or decline the university admission, but I have not heard anything...
  8. I got an email at 9:20 this morning, did not get in...pretty bummed, but it will work out...
  9. Do you remember what date (month) you submitted your application? I submitted mine in the middle of March... I am just wondering how they notify their applicants.
  10. I applied to Sierra for Fall 2011 for the first time. I have not heard anything back just yet...this wait is really difficult :) Congratulations on your acceptance!!!! How many times did you apply to Sierra?
  11. Hi Polka-dot, Thank you SO much for your A&P notes! They are extremely helpful. We are using the SAME book and it seems like the professor uses the same phrases. You did not go to FLC by any chance? (Sorry to be so off-topic, I have been trying to find polka-dot on the forums here, since the A&P topic is closed, I really wanted to ask her that and to thank her):redbeathe:redbeathe:redbeathe:):)
  12. Thank you so much for all your help!!!! I really appreciate it. I was looking at a&p notes someone posted and it stated "no net movement when the membrane is impermeable and when the solution is isotonic." I "think" I am going to go with these two. The temperature answer I was thinking of is not right like KR3W was saying. It makes sense that it will never be low enough. Thank you !!!!
  13. Hi, I am taking API this semester and I need your help with one question: Identify two conditions under which there is no net movement of molecules across the cytoplasmic membrane... I am thinking #1 -is when the solution is isotonic or reached equilibrium #2 -is when the temperature is too low for kinetic movement (or maybe when the molecules are too large to pass) I am just not sure for #2 What do you think? Thank you very much for your input!!!
  14. I'd like to join. How does it work?
